Hey everyone. Im just getting my 3 axis mill up and going, and have most everything sorted out except for the ess running out out data message a couple of minutes into running a part file. It happens with or without the spindle running. I usually cant make it past line 35 or so before this happens. I have downloaded the current ESS_v10h2d1a.zip File from the warp 9 website.

" - Fixed a bug in the microcontroller code that did not handle Ethernet data retransmissions properly in some cases where the packets were delayed and then burst quickly. This resulted in the communications hanging. This affected very few computers, but even if you have not had this happen you should upgrade to this plugin.-"

-Samsung 23'' touch screen
-Windows 8 64 bit operating system
-intel Core i3_3220T cpu @2.80 Ghz 6.00 GB Ram 5.89 usable
-Mach 3 R3.043.066
-cnc4pc c32 bob
-warp 9 Ess

Im not sure where to start to start so Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hood,
It took some trial and error but I figured out how to use the screen tweek program. I loaded Your code under a "tool Change" button, picked the use VB script button, and it worked perfect. Im not sure why the jpeg image is smaller than the rest of the screen in the screen tweek program. It makes it hard to figure out where things will actually be located all said and done. What is the differance between the 1024vc.set and the 1024.set screens?  Other than one is password protected. The reason I ask is because 1024.set, after adding a tool change button on screen 1, does not have all of the background jpeg images in the correct spot when I load it in mach. It appears that it is smaller than everything else, so the buttons, dro's and leds are not in line with the image.
Thanks for all your help.

Hood, Where do I find the reference for LED(2000)? is it a new led or a existing one. I looked in the mach 3 LED code list, and it only goes to 999. If This works im going to give you a virtual High 5.

I am in need of a little help on how to accomplish a simple tool change on my 3 axis mill running mach 3. I would like all of this to happen with the press of a keyboard or screen button. What I need to happen is have the z rapid to -1.000' 'in  machine coordinates, then slow to a feed rate of say 10 ipm to 0.000'' in machine coordinates. At the same time, I would like port 3 pin 3 to go active high and stay in that state until the button is pressed again. The z move to 0, could be in just a feed rate instead of  rapid to feed rate if it would be simpler. So in a nutshell, with the push of a button, I need  the z to go up to o.ooo'',the air clutch to apply(port 3 pin 3) which pulls the impact down so i can manually flip the momentary tool in / tool out toggle switch. the button would need to stay '' latched'' to keep the impact clutch down for the tool change until i pressed the same button again. I hope this is not to complex as it was all  I could do to get this machine up and running. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Thanks to all for your replies. At the same time I posted on this forum, I sent a email to mach license support and talked with scott, he was very helpful.  I did what he said and found the vista cnc imach ps4 pendant to be the problem. with the pendant plugged into the usb port, The screen freezes on the opening screen. as soon as I unplug it from the port, mach continues on like normal.  With mach up and running, I can plug the pendant back in and the screen locks up. I tried all three usb ports with the same results. I tried removing all files related to the pendant and reinstalling them with no success. I guess i am in the market for a new pendant. geh7552, I will check to see if any automatic updates took place. From what i am gathering i should remove The mach computer from the network and disable the internet connection. Hood, I will check on what version I am running and post it just as soon as i can. Thanks for all of your help.

Hello everyone, I am new to this forum and decided to come to you for some help. I recently converted my first Shizuoka AN-S to cnc. I was hoping someone could help with a problem im having. I have been running mach 3 for about 3 months with no problems other than the warp 9 ESS  running out of data. My immediate problem is that when I go to the mach loader and load my profile, It freezes on the opening screen ( the grey screen with the rectangular mach logo on it ). While it is stuck on this screen, It says at the top "Mach3 CNC Licensed To: Austin Brackin", IF I try to click on anything it says "Mach 3 CNC License To:  Not Responding". This started while i was in the middle of running a part program that has been run many times, The screen froze and i could only get out of the program by restarting my computer. I have only been able to start the program 1 time out of roughly 30 or so tries. The one time i was successful getting back into my profile, I noticed a lot of my settings were different and my imach ps4 pendant plugin was missing from the plugin drop down menu, but still showed my profile in the bottom right as SHIZUOKA AN-S. At first i could not access my profile , but it would go into the default mach mill profile. Now it will do nothing. I purchased my license from cnc4pc. I use this mill for a business and would really appreciate  some help getting this problem solved. Please let me know what other information would be useful. Thank You in advance.

 The mill uses-

Samsung touch screen i3-3220t cpu @ 2.80 GHz 6.00 GB RAM
64-bit operating system
windows 8

cnc4pc c32 Break out board
warp9 ESS
