General Mach Discussion / Clearing the current tool by code....

For one reason or another  ;) I want to clear the current tool with a macro code.

I have tried SetCurrentTool(0) but although it clears the tool DRO it does not clear the tool offset or the tool description label.

Can it be done properly?

This is on Mach Turn BTW

Ok thanks, i'll flip them and restart tomorrow, see what happens.

While you're there Hood, when adding another tool using the method you outlined, is there any need to reference an existing tool first or just go in, touch Z, take a cut and measure X then set the touch-X DRO and press touch X??

Should the offsets remain ok after or need to reset all tools?

No idea about US availability but i should think any good sensorless-vector drive will be good, as long as the power/voltage matches what you have. ;)

I have a 3Hp on my mill, use a sensorless vector drive - i used this one - Bosch Rexroth EFC5610, i'm running the motor up to 4000rpm with it.

It works really well, i am using 240v though no converter.

Hmm, not a good idea to just flip the tool post in the table to "rear" and think you can get away with it :)

Really messes up the X axis offsets, is there a setting for rear tool post offset somewhere?

I put them back to front post and had to restart Mach to clear it :)
