General Mach Discussion / Re: mach3 crashes

Depends on how you define "support". They'll still try to help you, but they are no longer updating the software. The reason is that it's practically impossible to fix any current bugs, without introducing new ones. Which is the reason that Mach4 is a complete rewrite from the ground up.

That makes more sense now

thanks for the info

ArtSoft no longer supports Mach 3 and has their hands full trying to get Mach 4 to work which doesn't look promising. Good luck trying to get a response for a Mach 3 error code.

Why would any supplier stop supporting a working system until the new version is fully 100% up and running and mostly de-bugged??

Makes no sense, i'm not denying it, just saying...

daft question...

why not just turn the machine 180degrees - the home will be correct then :)

are you certain the machine coordinates are being zeroed when homing??
and not just the work DRO?

so the DRO shows 24 when homed, what happens when you tell it to 'go to home' ??

I would have hoped it would go to where you want it to??

Setup your Point of origin first THEN load your program. OR just create a new button that just zeros teh XYZ. I believe if you just zero the xyz then it will not regen.

That sounds good, thanks

Probably something i have not set right but...

When I load code, it runs through each line on screen, then when i press my "set origin" button it re-runs the whole lot again.

This can take some time on a full sheet, am i doing something odd or is this normal behaviour for Mach3??

BTW my set origin button (i think) copies the current position to a G54, then zero's the DROs then regens the toolpath display, basically makes wherever i stick the torch my zero point.

General Mach Discussion / Adding a button to my plasma screen...
« on: September 21, 2015, 09:49:52 AM »
I need to add a button to my plasma screenset, i want to be able to toggle the "M1 optional stop" on and off, with an LED as well to show status.

I think the button is 177 and the LED is 65??

Is it simply a matter of adding those controls and assigning them to those features or am i missing something here ??

I find machscreen awkward to use so wanted to go in fully armed with what i need to achieve ;)
