General Mach Discussion / Re: THC-300
« on: July 25, 2008, 11:01:33 AM »
Check your CT connections and polarity or arc good signal from Plasma unit.
Also check J6-1, J6-2.
Hope this helps.

General Mach Discussion / Re: Thc 300 Macro not working
« on: July 21, 2008, 12:47:21 PM »
I have not tried it, but the way I understand it is that G31 uses the probe input to set the tool offset.
Set up your home input as the probe input and theoretically it should work.

Thanks Scott

Yes, KTMĀ  like the motorcycle.
Thanks for the info. I will try it on the weekend - I am still learning the VB script syntax - so it will take me some time ;)

Hi Scott

Will it be possible to automatically name the file with the time and date, thereby creating individual files for each job?
eg: CostEstimate0207081126.txt.  Where do I write the path name? eg: c:\mach3\Time logging.

Home the Z axis
Go to motor config > homing/limits
Set up the G28 home location (add .2"?)

That should work!

Are you using plasma torch arc voltage, flame cut height sensing or z axis co-ordinates?

Post your G-code and I'll have a look.

Hi Jim

1)No
2)Yes
3)The nesting can be done with the nesting wizard
4)The cuts will only be vertical. The machines are 3 axis with THC on the Z axis.
Mach only controls X & Y and switches the THC on auto/manual
Attached is a sample of the code

General Mach Discussion / Standard shapes for flame/plasma cutting
« on: July 05, 2008, 04:04:07 AM »
Does any one have a standard shapes wizard that could do the shapes in the attached file.
I am willing to pay for it.

Hi Clive

Congratulations
I am happy that your machine is sorted. I missed that one in your XML. -Slap forehead - In motor tuning  the step pulse and direction pulse time were set to zero.

The answer is always simple when you know what it is.

General Mach Discussion / Re: New to CNC cant get motors running
« on: December 15, 2007, 11:19:43 AM »
Regarding the square waves - What is the amplitude and frequency - are they only active when you run the g-code.
you can also run the motors from the manual screen - press "tab" on your keyboard.
Try adjusting your feedrate - maybe it is far too slow(unlikely)
