Mach4 General Discussion / Re: Mach4 Random Crash
« on: December 28, 2016, 05:32:46 PM »
Update:  after disabling everything I can find including wdm, power management, etc, the crash still happens.  I have attached a screenshot of the bluescreenview results as well as the latest dump.
It only happens with mach running, and it seems to always happen after I remove power from servos, i.e. by estop which disables mach4.  doesnt happen every time, if I try to make it happen it wont.
Mach closes first.  if I try to click an icon on the desktop it says program has moved or was deleted.... then bsod.
thanks for any help!  big job coming up dont want any mistakes!

Mach has been crashing on me lately with the below message.  Shortly after the message it will blue screen.  Usually happens when machine is sitting idle.  Machine is windows 7 with pokeys56e and hicon integra controller.  Mach version is 4.2.0.3155 (licensed).  Any way to trace this down?

I made that way too complicated in my head.  Just select the input pins for shared slot communication in PoBlocks and it works like magic!  Biggest issue I learned was you can't invert a pin in PoBlocks if it isn't inverted in Mach.

That's what I did in poblocks.  Problem is I want it to work while running mach4.  Is there a way to view the code that makes this happen to help me integrate it into the mach plc lua code?

Thanks for the answer.  What I am trying to do is add a beeper to my key presses in mach4.  I have it working in poblocks with a pwm output, but not sure how to do it with mach active.

Is it possible to program the pokeys 56e with poblocks and use the mach4 plugin at the same time?

Mach4 General Discussion / Re: LOVING the PMC!! Thanks Steve!!!

I figured out I had to do a fresh install of the latest version to get the Hicon to communicate properly.  I now have a dozen or so rungs working in the PMC.  I am stuck on one right now that I just can't figure out.  I have LED's that represent different jog increments (.01, .001, .0001).  I have Mach4 setup to only step through these increments.  I want each LED to light up when the corresponding step increment is active.  I tried reading the jogincx variable into PMC using a read from register instruction, but it seems it is not reading the decimal value (I assume because the variable is long dim).  How do I read this data type?
Thanks!
and BTW, I am way ahead of where I would be without the PMC.

I guess I have to play it safe.  the Hicon plugin only supports up to 2914.  PMC is looking good though.

Why can't I find the PMC?  I have the most recent version downloaded from the main page.

Edit* just realized I have to go to the ftp site to get the most recent builds.  Is it safe to grab the latest release or should I stay back a couple?
