Brilliant thanks - any idea how to wire it for 24v control?

thanks

Ah yes I see - I prefer the solid state/opto route. Which opto's are suitable, I can find many but many seem to have a minimum 24v switching capacity.

Got a simple diagram handy by any chance?

Thanks

Hood, you mention that you convert 24v to 5v for interfacing with a pc. How exactly are you doing this?

Thanks

I have a denford easiturn and i think the original opto spindle encoder is up the spout. I was looking to just directly replace it. I read a post by Hood that recommended the Optek OPB917B.  Does anyone know if this opto will work on the denford? (It's the one with the encoder disk on the spindle that has lots of holes around the edge and then a single slot inside that one - the one mach3 uses).

Can anyone point me in the direction of a circuit diagram for the Optek OPB917B that replicates the original denford opto encoder albeit just using the single slot on the disk.

Thanks in advance - rim

Works in progress / Re: Screenset for my touch screen

Out of interest, when using a touch screen do you still use a standard keyboard for data input or have you found a popup on screen keyboard e.g. like an Ipad keyboard?

thanks

Brilliant  - thanks Alex.

Is the shuttle code open source by any chance?

Thanks

1) Any idea how?

2) + direct or - direction.... on a lathe when you turn the x-axis cross slide handle clockwise the the table moves away from you. On the shuttle pro it moves towards me. OR are you saying my cnc system has the keys setup wrong?

thanks

OK well it seems I need to report a major bug in Shuttle Pro.

The X-Axis is the wrong way around. e.g when using a manual handle on the x-axis CLOCKWISE winds the table away from the user. Yet on the Shuttle Pro, moving the jog wheel CLOCKWISE moves the table towards the user.

For myself moving from a manual machine it is counter-intuitive - there should at least be a toggle switch on the X-Axis.

PS is the code Open Source?

thanks
