General Mach Discussion / Re: 3D Aspire to Mach3.....
« on: September 08, 2015, 06:59:38 PM »
I can open the file ok and I can't see anything obviously wrong.
There are no calculated toolpaths in the file though.

Which post processor are you using to calculate the toolpaths?
How do you set your Z height?

Do you have all the settings correct in the material set up in Aspire?
Where is the Z zero set and where did you zero it on the job?
After zeroing the axis, did you recalculate the toolpath in Mach?
Could be heaps of other causes.

General Mach Discussion / Re: advert blocks on Mach3 site

I use adblocker. I don't see the adverts that BR549 refered to, but I now have the ARTSOFT logo bar fixed across the top of the page. Very annoying because it makes the viewing window lower.
I'm using Firefox, Windows 7.

General Mach Discussion / What files should I back up?
« on: February 26, 2015, 07:38:40 AM »
Just recently my router computers hard drive decided to die. I managed to get a new HDD up and running with a fresh install of XP and Mach3.
This all went reasonably well.
I had backed up my xml file onto a memory stick, so I figured it wouldn't take much to get the router running again but.......
The saved xml didn't include my saved fixture settings, so I lost all of them. I had to re-write my script for zeroing my tool height also.

So is there more I should've/could've done to save my data??

This post is just an update for anyone else that is experiencing the same issues.
Refer to this topic for what was needed to solve my problem.

Well RICH, I have a smile on face even though you can't see it.
Changing the mode setting seems to have solved the issue with the huge circles.
In regards to not being able to change the tool diameter etc, Mach support sent me a replacement set file for copycat and that has sorted that issue out as well.

So a huge THANK YOU to yourself and to Mach support.
This will make my life so much easier.

The top picture shows what I was wanting, but I just get the bottom picture.
So how or what do I need to do?
What is IJ MODE and where does it come into it?

I started a conversation with Mach support yesterday, so maybe they can solve the problem.
Would you be so kind as to load that text file into Mach3 and post a screen shot of what you get?
I'd appreciate the help.

have tried and tried to get the copycat addon in Mach3 to work properly but it doesn't. That was a waste of money.

Not sure what our doing.
Copycat works....read the manual!

RICH
Rich, I appreciate the work that you put into the manual and I have read it SO many times thinking I'm doing something wrong.
The problem that I wrote about in this topic is what I get every time.
http://www.machsupport.com/forum/index.php/topic,27456.0.html

Here's a small file I did of a rectangular plate with 2x 10mm holes in the lower corners.
When I load that file into Mach3 it wants to cut 2x huge holes that are not even close to where they should be.

This is a little off topic but it's the problem I'm having with Copycat that made me look for other solutions.
