General Mach Discussion / Aspire and Laser
« on: October 17, 2017, 01:23:51 PM »
Hi all,
I have a Heiz 1000 machine and use Vectric Aspire software.  I also use a Kress router.  I have been thinking of getting a laser but have a problem understanding how this actually works.  I have read that the "on/off) is triggered through the Z axis but I need to have the Mach3 settings also I never see a cable being installed into the controller so I am confused about that.  So to recap, If I get a laser, I can mount it and Power it but everything else is sorcery. so can someone point me in the right direction on install the Z drive physically and the Mach3 side of it.  Any help would be gratefully received.
Dave

Hi
Sorry for the delay in answering.  I used the auto setup in settings to get the steps count.  The one where you put in the amount of distance to travel and input how far it actually travelled and ive got it very close as I'm only doing relief carvings so the steps count was 6800.  Hope this is what you wanted.
regards
Dave

Hi all,
Firstly, many thanks for everyones help, it is really appreciated.  I managed to get things sorted by a complete uninstall followed by in install.  Don't know why or what happened, but it seemed to do the trick.

Thanks again everyone.

Hi
Is 4064 acceptable in the motor tuning? The norm appears to be around 266 in all the tutorials.  Don't want it to kill itself?

Hi
Thanks for the reply, I ve tried that and I also tried the "setting", "Set steps per unit" but the movement was so small the output was something like 20,000 to input into the motor tuning.  Obviously didn't work, Im thinking of a total uninstall and reconfig, unless someone suggest something easier.  Cheers
