General Mach Discussion / Re: Using Corel Draw
« on: June 21, 2014, 03:18:35 PM »
dowload the sheetcam trial

export as .hpgl - have a play with exporting as .dxf too,but you will have to hairline them and export as an earlier autocad version = hassle

layer 1 = pen1

post processor - change from the 1st = AB tube cutter to mach

when you set up the table....  when you home your machine, simply set the material in sheetcam 10mm away from the home of x and y 'the table' - don't run soft limits.

anyways, if you do choose this route, can you write some brains or whatgamacaulics so you can simply click a mach button on the corel tool bar and the g-code simply appears in a new mach screen ready to go. - :? its really tiresome exporting from corel, then running the same post processing for a similar pre-set set up..

I will use the machine to make money, however the planned h-bot corexy machine I want to make I think is unable to be run with a
h-bot non traditional cartisan mach3 g-code post processor I have looked and nobody seems to have written one.
I have bought the mega arduino and ramps 1.4 and the little lcd, but alas ther, there isn't a way of importing 2d graphics orientated files into marlin / sprinter.
so I am fackered either way = ha ha ha!!!
the future maybe bright though as seemingly IF that nice man just wrote the 3d printer hot end wizard for trad x-y gantries gantry's for mach3
then some bright spark will undoubtably write a h-bot co-ordinate system as IF the glue gun head already exists, surely someone can see the benefit of having an OPEN ENDED GANTRY  - so for example you could roll your large open ended cnc h-plot bot corexy gantry into position , then proceed to cnc place (or print) extruded lost wax / investment casting goo on the floor and then simply roll the cnc machine away.

or stuff like that.

IF you like it time to make them little machines a bit bigger . -I think so anyway.

I would like to cnc place (or print) letters for signage backward on the platen in reverse with bevelled edges/ side returns to then install strip led's into them, that can be powered by those little solar panels that can simply be clicked into the cnc placed (or printed) orifice - positioned to the top, then print the location studs too- really fast
I can dream can't I??

plus I want a plasma cutter h-bot so I can do similar to above but tig the returns but still have the solars atop - need to figure out how on a curved top letter though, you can't see the tops from the street !

made a boo-boo buying these x4 thinking I was going to use the nema 17's with the 5mm shafts!!! = damn
then equall messed up again buying 4 of these
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/121159790132?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
thinking I was going to use an 8mm shafted nema 23, but they were all a bit too big!!!

going to buy a 24v psu, this one
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251323107133?ssPageName=STRK:MEBOFFX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1427.l2649

and a 50khz usb bob, one of these to try......do I need 200khz?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/5-Axis-USB-Mach3-Controller-Card-50KHz-CNC-Breakout-Interface-Board-Win7-8-XP-2K-/251492008098?pt=UK_BOI_Industrial_Automation_Control_ET&hash=item3a8e1780a2

so do you think thats all okay?
will only be pulling around one of these

can I run it with 4 motors
2 each side and simply wire them together
thats to scale with a 2525mm belt
45mm box aluminium extrusion
20mm rails 450mm long ish

should I go nema 17 or stick with small 23's
should I get the 25mm wide belt simply beacause I can
what teeth coun't would you suggest at 5mm pitch
do the idler wheels/pulleys need to be the same size as the motor gear

thanks

yes 2525 = divided by 6 = 420 square ish
25mm belt

even do it dual shaft motor with dual belt top and bottom dual idler

plasma torch eletro magnet up down or cable pull or twist

plus of course there doesn't seem to be any reason why you couldn't double up the motors and have 4 = one in each corner too.

vroom vroom

so doing the sums in your head 'i can't' IF I were to buy one of thos belts

5mm pitch, 2525mm long with 505 toofs, what diameter drive gear would you suggest?

plus considering its a 500mm square bed and there is no weight bar two 45mm square lengths of t-slot and a plasma torch, could you get away with 4 nemae 17's or would you run with the smallest 23's - but still dual shaft?

p.s. I have a shed - litereally - load of 45mm squar t-slot, so I plan on simply bolting a square together, then bolting on some t-slot thk rail 'maybe top and bottom see!!! - with a simple triangle on two block bearings with a spacer on the y the width of the bearing, twin tubes for y axis with a left and righty for a turn buckle effect for tensioning at each end.

plus of coure in the table corners its simple triangles with fout holes for the motor mounts and a cebntred hole for the shaft, poulley on top, enclose the motors
wireing going through the t-slot, like majic.

plus the y-axis triangle hold the idlers.

i think i need to buy some bits, anyone got 4 thk rails and 8 bearing blocks and 4 dual shaft motors, 2 2525 belts , 4 idlers etc etc

2 foot square static x and y motored gantry
= no weight and fast
plasma torch height up and down on a cable

can mach run it?

whats the largest belt available
what belts do you use
are the pulleys and idlers available off the shelf
