General Mach Discussion / struggeling to run a gcode from cambam
« on: June 06, 2013, 09:56:11 PM »
I'm very new to this and still learning, and I am hoping someone can identify what is causing my gcode not to run correctly in mach3.

I made the tool paths in cambam and I must be missing something, I just don't know what...

I attached the gcode in case anyone could take a look at it. I have a feeling it is something simple that I just don't know about...

Thanks!

General Mach Discussion / Re: Alignment for two sided machining ?
« on: June 01, 2013, 06:20:49 PM »
I was thinking along that line, but then my piece will need to be perfectly centered ,  not sure how to do that yet in mach3 , or is that something I should do in my cam program?

General Mach Discussion / Alignment for two sided machining ?
« on: June 01, 2013, 06:13:36 PM »
I'm trying to cut a two sided object and I'm having a hard time figuring out how to get it perfectly aligned when I flip it over to do the second side.

Anyone  have any tips to help me figure this out?

Thank you!

General Mach Discussion / Re: CNC doesn't move but mach3 thinks it is
« on: June 01, 2013, 06:11:35 PM »
I think I got it! It had to do with a tiny dot that was almost invisible and it was way off to the left of the actual piece. I didn't see it but it. Must have been left over from when I was starting to draw the object in CAD.

I'm guessing maybe the machine stopped because it was telling it to go way off the cutting area....

Any works great now.

Thanks for you quick respose and offer to help!

General Mach Discussion / CNC doesn't move but mach3 thinks it is
« on: June 01, 2013, 01:17:38 PM »
Hi I'm trying to run my first 3d profile project and I'm guessing it must be a simple issue that I'm having.

I created an object which was exported as .stl  then in Cambam I created the gcode

Gcode opens fine in mach3 and looks right.

When I start to run, the motors make noises but they don't actually move the router, meanwhile mach3 is showing as if everything is moving along fine.

If I cut other gcode files that are just 2d files, the CNC moves as it should and works great.

Can anyone tell me what I'm missing ?

Thanks!
