Works in progress / Re: First Screen Attempt....

Thanks hacker77,

I am just about done with it, I have three colors available, a Brown, Light Blue and the Silver shown, I have been using it to make sure there are no issues with it, the only thing I want to change is make the text box larger to show longer file paths for the gcode file.

I believe that this is hard coded and cannot be changed.

You will need a large bin for specials (otherwise known as scrap) a small area for displaying perfect examples, over time the sizes of theses can be reversed.

A swear box with a large capacity, useful for replacement tool purchases.

A swivel chair is always good for the long running jobs, plus a copy of popular hobby magazine.

Tea or coffee making machine, again this can be replaced with beer, wine, etc but only as experience allows.

An understanding wife, girlfriend, partner and bank manager are always an advantage.

 ;)  ;D  ::)

LOL, that's very funny, sounds like you got it down.

I second mrprecise44's choices on CamBam and DraftSight, excellent software packages.

I wanted a Screen Set for my 1366 x 768 display, I wanted all the controls that I will need and use on one display and a simple look and not too much color, it does look a bit cluttered but I tried to organize it to find things easy.

There are only 3 screens, the Main Screen, Diagnostics, and a Reference Screen.

The XBOX 360, which is a handheld game controller, acts like 2 mpg's and can be configured numerous ways to yor liking.
So it easy to go from slow to rapid movement or just creep into position. This allows you concenterate on movement and is natural in use.
Thus it saves time when using Copycat to trace out an outline of the object.

RICH

So I am assuming there is some type of addon for Mach3 for the XBox 360 controller, I'll do some searching.
It sounds really cool.

  Thanks,
     John

Hey John, just now looking at the cameras, so many !
Care to tell which one you chose ?
Your quality looks nice. I'd hate to get a clunker.  :)

Thanks,
Russ
