Newfangled Solutions Mach3 Wizards / Re: downloading wizards
« on: September 09, 2007, 07:25:08 PM »
There are several answers to that.

The newfangled wizards are part of the Mach distribution. Whenever I make an update ( not frequently) I send it to Art and he puts it in the next release. So if you have updated Mach recently you have the latest Newfangled set.

Some wizards have been posted here in the forum. For hose you have to download them, usually a .zip file, and extract them to the Addons folder.

Others have been posted to this forum, I think some even in the Yahoo group files.

The Xminus DRO works just fine for me. It is is DRO1101, do you have 1101 used in a macropump?

I will add a Z feedrate DRO and use it with the Zstep button.

I also cannot make an entry in the Zrapid DRO- its DRO1100, that should be valid and I don't have a macropump running. Ill have to look at that, maybe its a problem for Art. I wonder if DRO1100 has been used in some other function? maybe the Shuttle? I know this worked with earlier Mach versions, I tested it well.

I also found I cannot set the Zup for Rapid Button. That uses LED1100. Something has changed in Mach.

I will add a DRO for setting speed, but I wont be able to test it since I dont have a machine with a controlable spindle speed. Of course all it will do is issue a S#### g code.

I have figured out another problem that has bothered some guys- I viewed this as a Power Feed of the TABLE, so the feed buttons work in the sense of moving the table. Of course anyone doing CNC is used to moving the TOOL, so these values seem backward. However, since I think most users of this  wizard will be used to the idea of a power feed option on a manual mill I will leave this as it is.

I will get a version with these fixes here in a day or two.

General Mach Discussion / Re: Import JPG file
« on: September 07, 2007, 03:21:35 PM »
Mach used to have an import jpg function but that is now gone. It is now part of LazyCam. Startup lazycam and you will see it there.

You will have limits on what you can do because of demo mode. Note the full LazyCam needs its own license.

Yes, as long as the files are part of the wizard they go in the same folder. You should always have a .set file, and a .set.def file.

There is a folder called Addons under Mach3. Each wizard has its own folder below that by the name of the wizard. For example, the Newfangled wizards are C:\Mach3\Addons\Newfangled

The wizard code should be a .set screen file. there may optionally be other files that are part of a wizard, like init.m1s. There also may be a Bitmaps folder if the wizard has any special screen images.

If you mean for every wizard in the set, I think I'm to old to start a project like that. :-)

I did look at adding a Ztop to the surfacing wizard, I may be able to add that when I finish the step over problem.

General Mach Discussion / Re: Tunning question "CamTronic's"
« on: August 21, 2007, 03:49:20 PM »
I had gecko 320 servos on a machine and they growled like mad. I tuned until I was sick of it. I finally solved the problem by switching to steppers. Now dead quiet, and the machine runs 75ipm rapids instead of the 100ipm I got with servos. I'm happy.

Ive still got servos on my router, they growl like mad, but the router makes so much noise I can't hear the servos :-)

I don't think gecko servos will ever be quiet, tuning may make them a bit less noisy.

VB and the development of wizards / Re: Soft Limits
« on: August 21, 2007, 03:31:20 PM »
It looks like Softlimit X max is oemDOR150, Ymax 151, Zmax152

There is a list on the wiki with all the DOR numbers, as well as LEDs.

Screen files are usually installed in the base Mach3 directory. Just copy it to the directory, start Mach and select the menu item for View, screen set. Select the screen file you want and Mach will load it.

I dont know anything about the coil winder screen, but you would have to get the correct motors conmfigured and tuned, to match what the screen expects.
