Sorry for the delay in getting to this- I missed your original post.

It looks like you have found a bug. The preview code works OK, but the post does not. Ill get it fixed and have a new  version out soon.

Sieg Machines / Re: Seig X3 configured in INCHES.
« on: September 25, 2010, 09:54:56 AM »
I just got a KX1 and while setting it up, in inches, because thats my native unit, I found I needed 12744 steps per in instead of the calculated 12700. I posted on the smallcncsupport site and got Adams expected posting to use metric.

Just as a test I did a metric setup and made accurate measurements and found the pitch must be 502, not the calculated 500.

The machine has a slight pitch error in the screw, it may well be within tolerance for the screw design.

Bottom line is one should measure his machine accurately and set the steps per to the measurements, not to the calculated value.

Im doing a training video for LIttleMachineShop and I will be covering this is some detail.

For the past few years we have been holding a CNC activity at Cabin Fever Expo. This year we have a seminar with a chance to win a CNC mill

The mill is the 3501 (aka KX1) sold by LittleMachineShop.com They are sponsoring this event, along with Brian Barker of the Mach3 software and Cabin Fever Expo.

We will hold a seminar on Friday, January 14 starting at 1:00. The seminar is called "From Packing Crate to Making Parts" We will open a new 3501 mill, install Mach3 on a PC, make all the configuration setting, test the mill for accuracy and backlash. Then we will setup and run a program to make a part. The seminar will be conducted by Ron Ginger and Brian Barker.

At the end of the seminar a drawing will be held and someone in the seminar will win the Mill and PC. The mill will be on display, making parts for the rest of the weekend show in the Mach3 booth.

The seminar will cost $50, which includes your admission to the entire weekend at Cabin Fever as well as the seminar. We are strictly limiting this to 70 people, so your chance to win over $4000 worth of equipment is good.

To sign up for the seminar see http://www.littlemachineshop.com/3975

dspMC/IP Motion Controller / VyTech router with dspMC
« on: September 15, 2010, 12:25:07 PM »
I have a request to help convert an old VyTech router, 5x10ft table to use Mach. The router has Copley Controls amplifiers. The amps are not a current part number for Copley, but were an OEM version. I think they are +/- 10v input

Has anyone seen one of these machines?

Would a dspMC be a good choice for running it?

Newfangled Solutions Mach3 Wizards / Re: Lathe wizards collection

The Newfangled wizards do not include lathe.  You might try on one of the othesections of this forum, or on cnczone.

I have been working on some turn wizards, but summer has slowed my progress. I dont think they would do a jar shape however.

Al you need to do is remove the folders form the Mach3/addons folder. Each folder holds one wizard.

You should do this when mach is not running. Mach reads the folder each time it starts up, but if you deleted folders while it was runningit might get confused

Of course, next time you install a new version mach will put back all the wizards.

The addons are also called wizards. You can use the menu bar for wizards, then select the newfangled one form the list presented. There is also a button on the main screen labeled 'conversational' that directly opens the newfangled wizard.

there is no addon.exe file

The NFS  wizards do support building complex programs by combining actions, but they do not allow changing the Z, as you have discovered.

This has been requested before and I have considered doing it, but it can lead to many ways to crash a tool if you are not careful. I have always figured wizards were for simple operations and should not make it easy to crash tools.

Screen designer tips and tutorials / Re: Mach3Screen newbie...

That is clearly not what you ought to see. Id give up on Screen3 or screen4 and go to MachScreen. it works much better.
