Also how do you use Metric units with the wizard?

I have not tried, but if you enter a G21 in mDI before starting the wizard, then simply entering your metric values should work.

In the video you popped up the editor window, how do you do this?

Do oyu mean the keyboard popup? Thats called AutoCalculator. Click on the Operator Menu then click AutoCalculator. It will stay work until you click again to turn it off. Then simply a click in any DRO and the keypad pops up. I love it at my desk because I can do all entries without letting go of the mouse.

Can I record a file and save it, and then just run it in the Mach 3 window?

Yes, thats exactly the idea of the record function. The saved file is simply Gcode, it does not need the wizard to run.

No problem asking questions, thats why the forum is here.

Those dont look like bad sizes. The Gcode files are basically empty unless you have special code you wish to put there, like some kind of machine init routine. The changle log is just a few lines of text, and the Threads file has only a few lines of sample data- its up to you to edit it to contain the threads you commonly use, and the values you like for thread depth.

But I would expect better luck with un-zip on the PC not the MAC.

Beacuse the V4 wizard is being done in C++ I have access to all the normal windows controls- like list boxes, sliders, etc. The program steps show up in a list box, and a right click on an item brings up a popup with Edit, Delete, MoveUp, MoveDown. I also plan to have the ability to save a template file, which can be opened and then edit one or more operations to create new Gcode.

With Brians help we have developed a very good program structure. We can later make specialized wizards. like for Turn or Router fairly quickly.

That thread wizard has always driven me nuts. With all the combinations of left, right, inside, outside, climb, conventional its very hard to keep straight. I have not hear other reports of metric issues, but I will look at it and see if I can find anything.

in the Cam Function Addons window NFSturn is listed. But under description it says "No Description", and under Author it says "UnKnown"

This can only mean the wizard is not properly installed, although I dont see how it could show up in the list of Function Names.

The wizard should be unzipped so that the NFSturn.set file is at C:\Mach3\Turnaddons\NFSturn\NFSturn.set There should be 6 files in this folder as well, Changelog.txt, GcodeEnd.tap, GcodeInit.tap, Init,m1s, NFStrun.set.def, and Threads.txt, as well as a folder called Bitmaps.

If teh Init.m1s is missing things dont get setup right in teh wizards. If either Gcode file or the Threads file is missing it will get an error, which should show in the Error window.

I really need to work on the code so that it tests for teh files and gives an error message in a box, not just on the error line.

The wizards are all independent products. Each must be downloaded and installed separately.

However, they all use the same license, so you only need one license, installed into the c:\mach3 folder.

The V4 wizards do not have a copy cat feature at this time and are not likely to have one with a video screen in the foreseeable future.

sorry,

If the tool was to remain the same, could I remove the M6 T# of each op with no other changes, or if there were other changes that would need to be made. What would they be?

Yes, just knock out the unneeded M6 T commands. There may also be an M3 (spindle on) after the tool change that could be removed, but it wouldn't hurt to leave it.

I do not recall exactly the condition when it includes a tool change or not.
