Hi,
the .ini file is your profile and has the majority of your settings.

It may well be that you have made modifications to your screenset as well. Typically what happen is you set up a new profile and give it a unique
name...this is good , but then we use one of the standard screensets, wx4.set for instance.  Over a period of time we will add and change things
within the screenset but without renaming it. We risk having all our modifications overwritten when we update to a later build of Mach4.

Also if you wish to give someone else your Mach4 settings then whatever screen tweaks you have made need to be passed to the new user as well,
a uniquely named screenset is the correct way to do it.

Hi,
do you have a licence for Mach3? I don't mean to suggest that the difficulties you are experiencing are because of the licence situation but
if you don't have one yet you might consider Mach4 instead. Mach4 is not subject to problems with MS updates.

The change from Mach3 to Mach4 is not exactly straight forward or painless and in effect you are required to get an external controller,
maybe $120 to about $250 depending on the features and capacity you want. So Mach4 will cost you some time and effort and  a few dollars
worth of hardware but you will avoid this nonsense of MS updates screwing up your CNC machine.

Hi,
did you check that <Enable> is a function? If it is, have you called the function using the correct
syntax:

MachEnable().......note Lua is case sensitive and the parenthesies indicate to Lua that its a function
thus

MachEnable
machenable()
and
MachEnable()  are all different.

Hi,
have a look at the <Enable> button event properties in screen edit mode. If it has
a script or a function as an event, but NOT an action, then yes you can do exactly the
same thing.

Hi,
just noticed that other examples:

if (state==1) then

ie it might be necessary to put the parenthesies around the conditional. As someone pointed out that
Lua has syntax 'that only a mother could love'.

Hi,
the signal library takes a little bit of 'getting your head around' however when you do
you'll soon realize that this method is light years ahead of Mach3 which polls its inputs.

Further now that you have that one example under your belt you'll be able to repeat it with
all manner of variations...and so simple!

Hi,
I am at work and so can't show you at the moment.

Open the screenload script and near the very top you'll see:

SigLib{

which is the start of the signal library table. You just need to put another entry in it.
It tell Mach 'this is the signal I'm interested in....and this is what I want you to do...'

No, thats how the screen button works.....your input just needs to call the CycleStart() function
AS IF the screen button is pressed. For an input signal to call a function the easiest, leanest
and most computationally efficient way of doing it is to have an entry in the signal library, thus
every time that the particular signal changes state it executes the function.
