General Mach Discussion / Re: New guy frustration LOL
« on: April 30, 2019, 03:16:10 AM »
Hi,
I use Autoleveller and find it works well. What version are you using AutlevellerAl or AutolevellerAE.
My preference is the AE version, it produces a file of probe data and THEN 'autolevells' the PCB.
It is plainly obvious that the probe data is being incorporated into your file.

Lots of Chinese made controllers do not handle probing at all well. It may be that your board is apparently
probing but not in fact producing any valid data. The AE version of Autoleveller allows you to inspect the probe data
and draws a 3D representation of the probed surface,  so you get a visual indication of the results.

Mach4 General Discussion / Re: loop in macro till register changes

Hi,
just spotted a glaring mistake in the code, it should be:

Code: [Select]
local inst=mc.mcGetInstance()
local regHandle=mc.mcRegGetHandle(inst,'myRegisterPath')
while (mc.mcRegGetValue(regHandle)==0) do
wx.wxMilliSleep(100)
end

Hi,
I would guess that the button script is triggering when it shouldn't.

Try putting a wxMessageBox line of code in the button script, it may well indicate false triggering.

Hi,
note that the code I posted has no time-out mechanism. If the register never changes then Mach is
in an infinite loop, you'll have to crash it to stop.

If that's OK...all well and good otherwise you'll need to add some extra code.

Hi,
try this:

Code: [Select]
local inst=mc.mcGetInstance()
local regHandle=mc.mcRegGetHandle(inst,'myRegisterPath')
while (mc.mcRegGetValue==0) do
wx.wxMilliSleep(100)
end

Naturally you have to substitute the path to the register that you are using.

Hi,
sorry, forgot to attach the pic that goes with my previous post.

Hi,
you can write a script that would set your current work offsets to whatever you require but I'm thinking you
don't really understand what work offsets are.

Look on the Offsets Tab.

Note the buttons g54, g55, g56 etc. It is common that when you start Mach the default offset g54 is in operation.
If you have an alternative offset that suits a particular job or a particular material placement you could have
that offset stored in one of the other offsets, g55 for instance.

Note that if you hit the <Fixture Offset> button  then a table comes up as shown and you can view the over one hundred
sets of offsets. You can edit each one manually if desired.

In any given offset, g54 for example, if you hit the <Zero X> it causes the x axis offset to change, thus it is common for an
offset to change over the course of a Mach session. One of the most common changes is when you mount a piece of
material in the vice then jog to the start point, if you hit <Zero X>, <Zero Y>, <Zero Z> in succession the current
offset set in operation will now reflect the machine coordinate point of that location. Provided you do not alter one or
more of those entries Mach will retain that location for months/years.

Hi,

Quote
Weeks of customization in this thread just to make the CYCLESTOP button also do the
M00 command ?

No, hours or less....if you know what you are doing.

If you favor Hass or Fanuc, and who wouldn't, pay up $20k and you can have one.

Hi,

MACH4 hobby version is NOT "very configurable".

Absolute rubbish, Mach4Hobby is, excepting MacroB,  indentical to Mach4Industrial.

Quote
YOU cannot change or create G CODES

Correct, there is no control software anywhere that allows you to write your own Gcodes.

NOT all Mcodes are scriptable/configurable

m1, m2......you really need to be able to change those....you should take up knitting.

Mach4 General Discussion / Re: plasma thc
« on: April 28, 2019, 06:44:28 AM »
Hi,
my understanding of the Mach4 THC feature is that an external device measure the arc voltage and provide to Mach
ISIG_THC_UP and ISIG_THC_DOWN signals. Mach then handles the up/down motion by command to the motion controller.

Note that it is a script based solution and is not realtime as you would expect a THC capable external motion controller like
the Hicon Integra or the ESS. Thus the refresh rate at which you could expect Mach to command the motion controller
will be in the low millisecond range. If the up/down requirements are not excessive or very fast then this solution
will be adequate. If however the up/down requirements are aggressive or are required very quickly then the script
based solution will probably disappoint.
