Hi Ian,

It is cutting the square bar one side, however the jog keys, as previous posts dont always work and I think its because the control board is corrupt.

Dont think its axis pin thats lose as it does it on all axis but not in any order.

Hi Everybody,

Just had the supplier on the phone and its not my fault! Its the post processor (not 100% sure what that is other than a file) in cut 2 d and it also is the control box (Some lose wires and the problem with the sticky jog keys) by all the tests done (the suppler had been creating Gcode in another program for his tests on the same machine).

I have cut a square on three sides the fourth side not cutting however the display is counting down to 0 but no movement.

Will keep you all informed and thank you all for your help and please bare with me as not only am I new to CNC this has been my first venture into Forums

Hi Stirling,

Really sorry if I have upset people, I really appreciate the help that people are giving me. I don't think I abandoned the thread I had a message telling me it had been removed.

Yes I have posted on another forum just trying to get answers but the content is always the same, I cannot get the machine to cut what is on the screen (produced by me and others) no matter what I do.

All of the port issues had on another forum where caused as I tried to swap computers to deal with the issue and the only reason I have two forums running was that I thought that this one would be able to help me more with mach3.

Any help is truly appreciated and once this is sorted I do intend to try and help others (once I have learned) unfortunatlley I have clients to for fil orders for in the next two weeks so I think I need to sub the work out if I cant get it sorted today.

The machine is still not working as it should (toolpath that is cut is different to the one on screen, I did post in general discussion about that but I think its been removed)

General Mach Discussion / Toolpath not cutting

Hi,

Really new to this, I have bought a new CNC, however after literally days of trying to sort this out, I cant.

I have the machine moving in X,Y,Z and I have the toolpath on the screen however what it cuts is not what is on the screen and it keeps repeating a pattern across the material.

The supplier is trying to convince me, its me, however after buying a new computer, lead and PCI board re loading the software on both computers time and time again the same thing happens on both computers.

I am pretty sure that it is the control board that's duff, as this, as far as I can see is the only constant.

I am told by the supplier that this should work out of the box and the test file he has sent to me works fine on the other units he has, as I need this for my business all the lost time is to much

Please, please help

Hi hood,

Many thanks, I will have a look at the software tomorrow........ unfortunately these are the settings I have been given by the supplier and I don't have any paperwork with port codes so I am completely lost.

I have spent nearly a week trying to work out if its me, the machine, the software (mach3), the computer or the leads and the supplier tells me it should work straight out of the box with the software he has provided, though he cant get it to work remotely either.

Any help is really appreciated

Hi Ian,

That's correct, I entered in the EC07 code again just on the of chance (tried so many times before), shut the whole computer down and restarted and this time it worked. Ever hopeful I tried to use the machine again but this is when it goes bonkers.

Something else that may be relevant is that the jog keys do not always work (make the cnc move) even though the coordinates are moving on the screen, you have to click on the x,y,z in a couple of different orders to then return to the key that was not working and then it will respond.

The Mach 3 I was told to download was Mach3 R3.043.066 in case this is relevant

I think more and more its the control box?

Sorry should have said, only other thing I can think of is that even though the PCI is plug and play it could need a different coading in the Bios, any thoughts

Hi Ian,

Just give you a heads up, I have just bought a CNC, the file attached has not worked on the machine even though I have tried for hours and the supplier has tried (cuts weird shapes instead of the intended shape), so bought new computer, lead and PCI card.

Connected the lot and the same thing has happened (I just got it to recognise the port address as per my post) weird shapes.....I am now sure its either the software (xml) I have had supplied or the control box.

I am at the point of returning the machine as the supplier I believe thinks its me!

Any help would really go a long way
