Finished Screens / Re: Mach3 2010 Screenset - Now available
« on: June 07, 2013, 02:00:06 PM »
I have been working with a demo version of mach 3 version R3.043.066 for sometime know. I just ordered the full package of mach 3 and have not installed the file to activate yet. I was also going to purchase screen set 2010.

I have a question in regards to reloading an older version of mach as suggested on the cnc woodworker website were I was going to place my order. Below is the note on the website!!

Note: A change in the 3.43.versions of Mach3 have caused the M6 toolchange macro's which auto zero during a toolchange to NOT work in the current lockdown release of Mach3, version 3.43.022. I can not confirm that it will work correctly in any 3.43.********* version prior to 3.43.022.

As of development version, 3.43.028, Artsoft has fixed the issue with the 3.43 versions. I have tested it and it appears to work correctly. However, as it is a development version, I recommend using 3.42.040 or slightly older. I personally use both 3.42.020 and 3.42.040.

my question is I have made changes with the demo program and have my machine working good know. I have changed back lash, motor turning etc, to name a few things I don't want to lose all the settings (changes) that I have done.

What should I do with this problem.

Screen designer tips and tutorials / Re: big tex screen
« on: June 05, 2013, 12:00:18 AM »
I have 2 different mach blue screen(Big Tex) and I am no sure what one is the most current one. Can someone verify what one is the most current as well as how to check what one I have installed currently. One of the programs that I have on the program run screen there is a section on the very bottom asking for the fixed plate position the other one does not have it there it is on the setting page. I think this one is the newest but cant be sure.

If it is I when then I have added the fixed plate coordinates and the touch plate thickness dimension and when I hit auto zero on program screen I get a message saying not yet implemented. Is there is a link to a setup for this. I have read a few and they have not helped.

Also I have set up in this program on the offsets tab a tool change location. what is the line in mdi to have the machine do this move or is there a button somewhere to have the machine move there. I tried "g01 m6 f 30" on the mdi screen .

Any help would be greatly appreciated again.

I have a trail version of aspire currently going to purchase the full version as soon as I am comfortable that my machine is working correctly. Does aspire put in tool changes in there program atomically when they are generating the g code? I understand that I have to tell them if I am going to have a roughing tool etc. when I start.

I have a question when I make a program lets say with Aspire and there is a tool change do I need to add a sub program (g code, script) into the program for the tool change to happen? I really like the sounds of this program and want to install it but just wanted to confirm how it works in this regards.

Thanks Hood I got them to home by adding the pins the way that you suggested. I also verified this by looking at the diagnostic screen and see the switches light when i activate them. Thanks for the suggestion, i will try to get the machine to home today. I ran out of time last night. And i want to change the location of the switch to the positive side of the Y axis. When i home it will go in the positive direction. not sure if that would be a problem or not so i will fix it before it does create a problem. I did try to home it once last night and the x axis only engaged one motor when it was homing and i had to estop the machine. i was to tired at that point to look into with much detail. I remember reading somewhere that it has to do with the one motor being a slave motor.

it was picking them up during pre test just shorting by wires touching them together to check and to see if it was working. Then i mounted the actual switches to the machine and i can only get on of the signails to connect during auto set up. I am getting port one pin 12 to register. I then went back and checked continuity from switch to gecko to eliminate switch problems etc. And they are all good. So i no the signail is getting to the gecko but it wont register when doing auto set up. i havealso eliminated the switches as they have continuity back to the geeko board.
