Paul:

 Two things.

I just reran it here, and of course I get a perfect offset. :) , Id like you to check the value of the
Tolerance in the Extents tab in th elower status tabs. Mine is set to .0001 , can you set yours to that and
see what it does?

If it still doesnt give an offet, save th eproject at that point, and send me the EVA.LCam file will you. It may give me a hiint as to why your not
getting th eoffet you should. I cant seem to duplicate it here..

Thanks

Mach3 and G-Rex / Re: G100, Mach3: What's features are not working?
« on: May 14, 2007, 09:01:53 AM »
Hi:

Probing is not yet funcyional I think. I say I think because I havent used it, but I do haveit on my board to complete.
Probeing in the printer port is fast, but on the G100 I have a timing problem that could maek it very slow. It shoudl be turned on soon.

Mach3 and G-Rex / Re: G100 Mach3 Setup and Motor Tuning

Hi:

CV radius is in whatever units the program is setup in. It joins lines to gether with small arcs of that radisu to speed things up.
CV control shoudl be left all unchecked. There is a CV thread on the forum that explains them, 99% of people need none of them.

The max speed is important though. It shoudl be set, for each axis, to the next highest frequency used. If, for example, the X is set to run at 55Khz as a max speed, then 65Khz shodul be flashed for that axis. All axis shoudl be flashed that way.

LazyCam (Beta) / Re: LazyCam Text Feature
« on: May 10, 2007, 11:59:46 PM »
Hi:

Text is not ready for releasde, it will be on the next version. IF you enter textm, then drag a box, the text becomes chins on the text layer. The text is moveable and deltable and can be used in pocketing operations..
But next version has most of the fnctionallity, that one you have is early..

LazyCam (Beta) / Re: LazyCam Pro Turn profiles..
« on: April 24, 2007, 08:44:24 AM »
Hi Dennis:

In Turning, you have to remember your not drawing a toolpath, so the code will not start where you indicate necessarily, your drawing a shape that indicates
to the program the profile shape, and the size of the stock as well as the inside or outside cut decision. The line on the right hand side indicates the stock size if
its an outside cut, and determins the start position from there. The whole idea was to make LCam decide how many passes and where to cut the material from
to get to the final shape. The line on the right is then very important so the program knows to cut from inside out, or from outside in. After generating a profile,
you need to disable the layers with the shape on them before posting the code. This is important otherwise it will try to cut the profile directly.

So general process is to convert the profile, create the end rough and finish, disable the profile layer, then post.

The new program will make this a bit easier as it will disable the profile layers automatically ..

General Mach Discussion / Re: Retiring.

I cant express how sad I am to see this. Benny has created and built this forum from its inception.
He's been an invaluable asset to us all, and he will be sorely missed. Very sorely.
I know from long experience how hard it is to do what he's done, and the amount
of toil it takes on ones life. ITs a very hard road to walk for a long time period.

He has done it willingly, happily and with a great sense of ethics. Benny, it goes
without saying how gratefull I am to you, and that if you ever need anything at all, I , and
everyone else is here for you. I owe you a great personal debt, I hope someday to repay it.
I suspect none of us have heard the last of you.. here or elsewhere..

LazyCam (Beta) / LazyCam Pro Turn profiles..
« on: April 18, 2007, 04:29:10 PM »
Hi Guys:

Till the video is done, not many know exactly how to do a turning profile.
The rules are that the line, after cleaning must be one chain. And it has a line on the right going up to stock diameter showing its an outside profile, or a line going down to bore size to show
its an inside profile. Here are a couple so you can see what I mean..

LazyCam (Beta) / Re: Here is the new GUI :) Lcam rev ->The Next One
« on: April 17, 2007, 10:17:32 PM »
The GUI is nearly done. We have sevel things to finsh up, but we're aiming for the same funcitons as the old LCam, but with better and easier selections
and setting of data. After we get it running, we'll be happy to look at suggestions for more routines as well as GUI updates to make things easier.

As your all aware, any major shift like this one is fraught with bug danger. We'll test as well as we can, but rather than hold it up, we'll get the basic
package out asap, so you can tell us how it works, or doesnt. We'll prioritise fixes to it. Your testing is why it will be relatively inexpensive at first.

SO far, its lookign good. I just hooked in new toolbars, message facillity, and only have to add new progress bars before I get Brian to complete the A axis
wrapping facility. Then we will release it after some preliminary testing of funtionallity. Hopefully, some day next week. It actually looks much better
now than the picture we showed you. Its very stable so far, and Ive been able to load all the DXF's that have been sent to me over time that
woudlnt load before. SO I suspect youll like the results.. If I can fit in text inputing, Ill add that too before release..

Thanks
