General Mach Discussion / Replacement Computers

Hi
It always happens all together, or when the busiest. The computer with which I do all my drawings and cam work started giving up the ghost. It was a bit long in the tooth (Dell Latitude 640).
The desktop running my machine has also decided to call it a day and requires replacement.
I need replacement download of Mach 3 to enable me to get up and running once again. I still have my .dat license file on hand.
Can one run Mach 3 on new laptop running windows 10. I use Mach on the laptop to verify my work before transfering to the machines computer running XP as usual.
Regards
Gary

Hi Craig
yes I get movement with MDI commnds.
I have stumbled on a possible reason for my woes.
While away from cutting the last few months, I was using the pc purely for working in the drawing program. During this time the pc battled to boot. Having checked the pc out, it is again behaving itself........touch wood! I cleaned up excess files and defrag'd it. I am wondering whether this could have inadvertently corrupted my mach 3 settings and running of the router.
I will give the Mach 3 settings a more thorough going over.
Possibly a re-install and make a new profile completely.

General Mach Discussion / Fail to jog but will home.

Hi, will a pc that is possibly failing cause my  machine to home but not jog.
I have been away from my router table for a while busy with other projects
Last week I was attempting to flash it up again to begin cutting again.
On start up Mach 3 indicates that the drivers were successfully installed. The motors locked in on power up but non of the axis will jog.
I did a reference all to home which the axis did, but then fails to jog once again.
While away from my machine. I had used its pc for some drawings and noticed on a few occasions that the pc failed to boot up. After a number of attempts to start the pc it did boot up and managed to complete my drawings.
If the pc is beginning to fail will this cause mach3 not to operate correctly.
The pc is a a refurbished unit, I bought some years back to act as stand alone control for the router table.
The only programmes beside xp are Mach3 and 1 drawing programme loaded onto it. It is not connected to the web or any network.

Hi SSPW
Thanks for letting us know.
Would you please give a description of your machine and how you have it connected to the mx4660 and how your  Mach 3 config is done. It will definitely be appreciated

Hi
Except for 1 or 2 alterations/additions my router table is now ready to run again.
Wanting to configure Mach 3, to run the machine and going over the instructions for both Mach 3 and the mx 4660 installation.
The xml profile published by the websites is a direct copy of the one released by Leadshine. Looking at the way the config settings, the profile creates, makes me wonder what and how they did there testing of the units before they were released. I see that a number of questions have been raised from persons who have studied the available documentation. The profile sets the kernel speed at 60000hz and enables both ports for starters.
Has anyone else got one of these mx 4660's running yet. It would be great to hear how they got along.

Received mine early this morning. I had previously been running with a toshiba 6560 blue board. The results from attempting to cut half a model sailboat hull, revealed how badly it was missing steps. Previous 2D work was ok, but had to redo a lot of my work ending up with a great deal of wasted material.
I have still to complete some alterations to my router table and connect the mx4660.
