Mach4 General Discussion / Screwcutting issue under Mach4
« on: March 26, 2020, 02:56:27 AM »
Gday all. I have an issue with mach4 when screwcutting, both G76 and G32 are effected.
The spindle speed constantly varies as each cut progresses. Starts out slow around 75 rpm, rises to 400 rpm at the end of each cut. the command speed being 400 rpm. The Z feed is increasing to compensate, but cuts an interesting Thread. The effect is very like CSS as the Diameter increases, except its the Z axis.

Only happens in screwcutting and the correct G97 is specified.

I am using an ESS, but I cannot find any issues in the Configuration.

Hoping someone can help. I took a video of this that I could include if it helps.

Mach4 General Discussion / Replacing Pendant brain file with lua
« on: February 25, 2020, 03:32:37 AM »
I am just moving from Mach3 to mach4, and I would like to use my wired pendant.
The problem is that under mach3, a "Brain" file was used, and not applicable to mach4.

Lua is the obvious answer, and should not be too difficult, once a start is made.
Ideally, it could go in a "Lua Panel" on the screen, I hope to avoid changing anything in the Standard Lua file (Screenscript.lua)
Anyone fixed a similar problem ?

Does anybody know of a macro to maintain feed rate on the Z axis, no matter what the X axis is doing.
Mach3 maintains the set feed at the tool, so as the X axis speeds up around the arc, the Z axis slows down, reducing the pitch of the thread.
The purpose being to screwcut on an arc segment.

Any suggestions would help with an existing macro (or similar macro to adjust).

Thank you.

Others / Ezilathe - Tools for the CNC lathe
« on: June 21, 2014, 08:48:43 PM »
This is Ezilathe, a program I have written to assist in the production of CNC code for the Lathe under Mach3.
It is a collection of useful routines including processing of DXF data into Gcode, that I have developed for my own use.
I am sure that you will find it useful as well.

The Cad tool is still under development, so is not yet fully functional, but all other tools have been in use for quite some time in my workshop.
Some of the functions can be useful for milling machine code.

Once downloaded, extract to C:\Ezilathe directory, and copy all the files from your chosen sample directory (Imperial or Metric) to C:\Ezilathe.

LazyTurn / lazyturn does not post code
« on: April 27, 2013, 09:44:18 PM »
I am trying Lazyturn for the first time, but I do not get any gcode out. When I hit the "PST" button, the dialog opens, allowing me to enter comments. Hitting the post button brings up an empty file in notepad (Also empty file on disk), not even my comments show up.
Everything else works, imports dxf's, creates and simulates cuts. (Looks like it does a very good job).
Lazyturn Version 1.1, Licensed Mach3 - All in Diameter mode and Metric.
