Hello All,

Well I am trying to set up my home and Limit switches and I am getting  frustrated to say the least. I have watched the video and it does not run through it completely unless I am brain dead or something of that nature, maybe I am just at my wits end and cant see it.

The Problem.....

I have six switches all in NC and wired in series, all at the end of the three axis. I want to use the X-, Y- and the Z+ as the homing switches. Well I don't know what pins I put them to or if they are supposed to all be high or low active or what. Also when I did the automated setup it put them all at 15. I made the home switches 11 only because the video did, and now I have no clue as to whats what.

I have added a picture of what I have.

Question ...

Can someone please tell me what the pins are supposed to be?

Setup ...

X2 HF Mini Mill
Hobby CNC Pro Board
Keling Technology KL23H286-20-8B Steppers on X,Y,and Z
Mach3

Any Help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!

Thanks
Bill

Hello Overload,

That's what I thought. I am running with a Hobby CNC pro board so I just removed the #2 jumpers of their axis.

Thanks

General Mach Discussion / Micro-stepping Question
« on: December 13, 2007, 11:03:38 PM »
Hello All,

I was wondering about micro-stepping, I have my motors tuned to full steps and I want to do 1/2 micro-stepping.

Do I just double what I was using on full-stepping?

Thanks
Bill

Bill I dont know I will think about recording for sale.......

Scott

That would be nice, I live in So. California so I think the trip would cost way more than a DVD.

Thanks

Hello All,

I am new to all this and I am sure I will be asking a ton of questions and more than likely they will seem like stupid questions but I will first use the search function and see if I can get the answers I need. I am not new to the use of forums so I will eliminate those questions right off the top.

A little about myself;

My name is Bill, and I am 46 years old. I am a  Model Maker and Prototype Builder by trade and I have been at it a very long time. I can do machining, it's just that I am new to CNC. I bought a HF mini mill and lathe a while back and I have been converting them to CNC. I have made all the parts and am now doing the final assembly on the mini mill. The CNC kit I have built is the Ron Steele kit and the manual was purchased from LMS. My hobbys are just building things and yes, this is one of them.

Here are the specs on my mini mill;

Harbor Freight 44991 Central Machinery Mini Mill/Drill
HobbyCNC 4 Axis HCNCPRO Driver Board Kit
Keling Technology Inc. KL23H286-20-8B 425 oz. Steppers (http://www.kelinginc.net/KL23H286-20-8B.pdf)
Mach3 Version R2.0.065 (Demo Version) ... (until I figure this out, then I will purchase)

Well I guess I am off to use the search function and see if I can find the answers to my questions, if not, I will see you on the boards!

Thank You for a place to come to!

Thanks
Bill
