General Mach Discussion / Limit Switches

Hi there, to-day I tried to set the limit switches on my 3 axis mill, they seem to work o.k. except when the switch is activated the machine stops and winds back,BUT it does not wind back far enough to de-activate the switches, is there a setting somewhere to have the software to take a few more steps to clear the switches?

Hi there, I have just purchased Gerry's screen 2010, and when doing the installation it tells you to go to the "OPERATOR.... BRAIN CONTROL... enable brains.. BUT allas and behold there are  NO   BRAINS in the BOX to enable, can some one please help me to put some Brains into the Brain Box..

General Mach Discussion / MACH 3 MANUAL MYSTERY

Hi there, I just had a look at the Mach 3 manual on the Newfangled web site, and notice that there are only 106 double sided pages, I have downloaded and printed a manual about two years ago and I ended up with 153 pages single sided, which divided by two equates to about 77 and a 1/2  double sided pages, my question is has the manual been added to or have I lost some pages??

Hi there, my computer running Mach3 died a slow death, I had to organise a new computer and load Mach3 again, in doing so I noticed the Artsoft icons did not appear on the desk top all I got was a square with a picture of a mill, is this normal or did I do something wrong in the installation?

Hi there, there are a lot of free vector graphics on the net, can some one please help me and explain how to convert vector to g-code, e.g. what software is easiest and the steps needed to go from V to G.

Hi there, just wondering how many people use Dolphin and Mach 3, I had a quick play around with the Dolphin software as a demo..... is it worth the $ value that they are asking for it?  and how easy it to learn  (maybe master in the future???).

Hi there, I am about to cut some patterns in MDF, I would very much like to know how to put tabs is the g-code so that the small figures don't go flying all over the work shop, do you do it in cad when you do the design or do you do it in the cam part, I am at pre3sent trying to learn D2NC, it is not easy any advice would be very much appreciated.

General Mach Discussion / GREMLINS in the works

Hi there, after solving the PC problem by buying another PC, I have found some "gremlins in the works", I keep getting a re-set signal when running Mach3, error report shows "driver watch dog triggered" or "limit switch triggered" I can understand it if the cnc machine was even turned on but it is not even connected!!!! any one out there with any thoughts or ideas I would greatly appreciate hearing from you.

General Mach Discussion / To XP or not to XP

Hi there, I just had a break down with my computer, it was an old PC with a printer port, when I asked about up- dating my computer to a new one I was told that to buy a new PC with a printer port was nearly impossible because the new PC have USB ports instead, and  XP may not be compatible with the faster machines, my question is will Mach3 run on windows7 no Vista without any problems? or do I look for another second hand PC which will use XP if a copy is still available?
