G-Code, CAD, and CAM discussions / tool offsets and lazycam pro
« on: April 21, 2007, 05:57:35 AM »
I really want the best way to tackle this problem I very new to CNC and still learning

The software tools I have are Auto cad 2004  Mach3 lazycam pro and the NFW

The machine I’m using /building/converting is a Clausing Kondia f1
X and Y axis complete Z axis to do

I did a drawing of a doughnut in auto cad and then set the cut depths in lazy cam and the cut in mach 3 when the cut is done yes you guessed it’s the wrong size by the amount of the tool diameter

I have now brought lazycam pro

But before I start again Id like some help if you can as I m confused about tool offsets

I thought that if a tool offset was set in mach 3 it would automatically take this into acount but this dosnt seem to happen

Thanks Andrew
