Right now working mostly in wood...
it certainly will be hobbyist kind of things for now
wanted to make signs, engraving...involving letters, emblems etc...
maybe make some small furniture
do you then know of a good beginners software for these kinds of things?

I may be in the wrong support group...
I am brand new to the CNC I knew nothing...
I had to take the seat of the unlearned!!

I need a software to help me generate codes
I have seen Vectric mentioned often...along with others
Vectric Aspire seems huge is this to much for a new person
to start with??
Should I begin with maybe 2D cut or something easy first???

General Mach Discussion / trying to set up home and soft limits

My machine was set-up using the supplied XML from the manufacturer
But, I noticed the setting for units is in mm I would be more comfortable in
inches...if I go in there and change it to inches will this mess up all the settings
that the XML put in??

I am up and running I want to thank Gerry and Hood for helping me
they were exactly right....the machine was ready to go and I mistook
it for an error message....

The first thing I did was to hit the limit switch in the Z axis and now
I cant do anything until I figure out how to reset that

if anybody gets that same initialization macro called on reset that's a good thing!

I am brand new , the machine is brand new
both us don't know we're doing
just received S1000 high Z from Germany this is my first cnc machine
So installed Mach 3 by dragging the provided XML file into Mach 3 loader and this is the message I get when I push the on screen reset button "initialization called on reset"
I am absolutely clueless what to do next but, just start over......It appears that all the particulars loaded into the program but, then I get this message....I know somethings not right.....
any body got any feedback on this....I have had this two weeks and I haven't heard the motors run yet..... ???
