Third party software and hardware support forums. / Missing holes
« on: July 07, 2013, 05:29:08 PM »
My design has a bunch of holes (12 total).  I've created the G-code using MeshCAM-5 (build 37) and ran the output through CutViewer and everything looks good.

When I load the file into Mach3 I noticed that only 7 holes show up on the tool path display and when I attempt to run the design it only machines the 7 holes displayed.

All this is on my laptop system running SmoothStepper USB connected to a G540 and a Sherline 2000 mill.  Other times one of the 12 holes displays a giant 3" hole (design is 0.51" dia).

Here's the weird thing; if I load the same file on my desktop system everything looks good - can't run anything as I have mill connected to it.

The design file was created using Alibre (GeoMagic) 2013, the G-code was created using MeshCAM-5 (build37) and simulated using CutViewer Mill.

I'm looking for help as I have no clue as to what went wrong.

I've attached a copy of the G-code file and a screen shot showing the weird display.

TIA,
Ken

Hello, my name is Ken from the SF bay area.

I'm new to CNC and MACH3.  Bought a Sherline CNC ready lathe and mill package.  I'm still in the process of getting things working.

My day job is embedded firmware design.  For those that don't know what that means; it's the software inside all those smart things controlled by a microprocessor.

I've been a wood worker on/off for many years, turned many of designs on a wood lathe but wanted to add some metal pieces to my designs (brass, alum)
