Mach4 General Discussion / Is Scaling Supported by Mach4
« on: July 19, 2014, 06:12:17 PM »
When setting a DRO code I noticed there is no entry for scaling.  Is scaling no longer available in Mach 4?

I've used only once or twice since building my machines.  I usually do scaling in CAD.

General Mach Discussion / I keep hoping...
« on: July 13, 2013, 11:19:20 AM »
Every time I visit this forum, I keep hoping to see an announcement of a beta release of Mach4.

I know it's been a long time coming, but with the recent videos from Cabin Fever and the update of the website, and running into the same challenges in Mach3 daily - the suspense of waiting is palpable. New releases of software are always fun. It's like Christmas, you want to to open the present and see the new shiny toy.

I have my $200 waiting to pay for Mach4. Here's to hoping we see it soon.

PS - Someone missed a great opportunity for a spoof release notice this last April Fools Day.

General Mach Discussion / Problem with homing
« on: July 09, 2013, 01:20:56 AM »
I have a CRP-4848 that has been running fine in the past.  I tried using it this weekend and discovered a problem when I try to home the table.

When I initiate homing the table, the Y/A axis moves backwards to the negative Y limit switches, the A limit switch gets triggered first and the homing procedure stops.  The console shows that a limit switch has been triggered.  When I look at the hardware signals it shows the A axis is triggered.  I have the Y and A set to home together in the General Config.  This has worked in the past.  I can back it off and try again, but I get the same result.  I don't want to disable the A limit switches since they serve a purpose to protect that side of the table.

I have included my config file.  I suspect if Hood looks at this, he'll want to see it  :D

I'm running the latest plugin from Warp9 with Mach3 and whenever I try to access a config screen I am seeing long delays before the configuration window comes up.  The delays can be anywhere from four to ten minutes (or even longer).  Eventually the request window does appear.

I haven't tried all windows, but I have seen the behavior with the "Ports and Pins", "Home and Limits", "General Configuration", and the ESS plugin configuration window.

Is this an ESS thing or could it be something else?  I have only ran Mach3 in simulation or with the ESS plugin.

My system configuration is:

  I5 @ 3.2GHz
  16GB RAM
  nVidia 470
  Windows 7 64-bit
  Mach 3.043.066 (Dev version)
  ESS v10fb2
