Finished Screens / Re: Mach3 DarkScreen Screenset - Now Available
« on: October 20, 2021, 04:56:06 AM »
Folks,

I have been adapting this screenset for my own use and added most of the features the original Mach screens had that are missing. In addition some added probing features.

I'm reluctant to release without the permission of graphicer82. I've tried P.M and email without response.

Attached images to show development. It's now finished as I'm no longer using Mach 3.

If anyone has contact details for graphicer82 and he agrees, I'll share the screenset.

Thanks
SantiniUK

Hi graphicer82,

I have now resolved my findings above and continue to use this excellent screenset.

One finding that will need correcting is an error on the ADD button used on the function for Y and Z.   (GET ADD GO) function

The Y and Z ADD buttons are using code that calls the X axis.

Code "G1 X" &Position

Thanks.

Mach3 under Vista / Re: New setup for USB board by BSMCEO4U-PP Bitsensor
« on: January 18, 2021, 06:13:20 PM »
Hi two things,
As far as I know, the Bitsensor board is compatible with Mach4. It just doesn't have a manual for saying how.
Second:
I just updated my user guide for the BSMCEO4U. New name and new link. I have identical web pages on two different home servers in attempt for 100% up time. One in Chicago and the other in Rock Island, IL  (see cnc.vancura.biz and cnc.vancura-innovations.com)

http://shoelessdave.com/Vancura.Innovations/files/BSMCEO4U%20Install%20Manual-converted%20wjv%202.2.pdf

http://vancura.biz/files/BSMCEO4U%20Install%20Manual-converted%20wjv%202.2.pdf

It is in effect a full translation from the Chinese version of the manual. I put some serious time into it trying to make American English out of it. I added a few more installation diagrams and some more documentation on the ports.

What it needs now is a Mach4 addendum.  I personally don't plan to go to Mach4, but anyone willing to document their frustrations in setting it up, will be welcome to send me the procedure for publishing.

Hi,

Just to add a note of thanks. Very useful document.
One of the areas I struggled with for setup information was the ability to implement the gantry squaring function, I basically have two ballscrews used on a X and A axis. (Slaved)
I was keen to implement the independent homing of the the X and A with home switches and the benefit this gives keeping the gantry square.
So just a note to say it is possible with this card but I could not find any details on how to do it.
In summary I did the following :-

I had to remove the E-Stop function on the card Input. (I have another hardware method to cover this)

Used a dedicated X-axis home switch on input 1
Used a dedicated A-axis home switch on input 4
The Y and Z axis home switches wired in parallel to input 3
X,Y,Z, A limit switches are all wired in parallel to input 2

I also managed to keep the probe function by using this on Input 4. I was pleased to keep this function.

So my trade off is the removal of E-Stop input to the card that I cover with a hardwired system.

I edited the 'Ref All Home Button' script to the following.

DoButton( 24 )
DoButton( 23 )
RefCombination( 9 )
DoOEMButton(133)
DoOEMButton(134)
DoOEMButton(135)

So to clarify, now when I press this button the system will move the Z-axis to the top until the home switch is made, then it backs off and retracts very slowly to make the switch with more precision and zeros the axis. Then it moves to repeat this for the Y axis.

Finally it will then drive both my X and A axis at the same time until one of the X or A home switches is made. it then will stop on first switch made, do the retraction and Zero, and then drive the opposite axis to complete the squaring process.

Quite pleased overall with this basic low cost card for my needs.

Hopefully that info might be useful for someone trying to implement gantry squaring.

(There may be better methods but I could not find any information)

Cheers

Mike,

Really useful information. Thanks for sharing.
I'm using the same card on Mach 3. It has its limitations but so far it's been solid on my cutting requirements.

Just about to join the world of Mach 4 so need to purchase a new controller.... I'm not clued up on this after a long break from cnc world.

Cheers.

Hi,

This is possible. You will need to add a new page no. 50

When you press Tab this page will appear and you will need to add the icons and controls for the MPG Functions.

(I would recommend using MachScreen V1.72 for screen designs.

Finished Screens / Re: Mach3 DarkScreen Screenset - Now Available

Hi again folks. Very rusty on screensets so appreciate some guidance please.

Really a fan of this screenset design but have stumbled across a few issues that others reported so have listed them below to hopefully resolve if possible.

1. Any Config / System Hotkey settings I set are ignored. It seems they are hard fixed in the screenset? Can this be changed so the Config / System Hotkeys are used?

2. Pressing the Arrow keys to move X and Y works fine. But pressing the Page Up / Page Down results in the Z axis not stopping movement so I have to hit Estop. This is reported in the thread here but not explained how to solve.

3. Using the Arrow keys to move X and Y works fine however when I Press Shift and the arrow keys it does not go to the faster jog speed movement. It does not recognise I have pressed the Shift Key for faster movement.

4. When I "Ref All Home", the green indicators do not light up like on the standard 1024.Set (Reported in Thread)

5. In Offsets page My X/Y/Z GoTo Position valuess change to many leading zeros like this: 0000.0000 (Reported in Thread)

If I could resolve these findings It would be appreciated.

Thanks for any help.

Hi,

It's been some time since I visited the forum but would like to ask that the text request for Paypal donations for this screen set is removed from the downloads section.

The screen sets that Mr Bean and Myself developed are free to this great community and It's disappointing to see that our work has been copied and then the 'author' offering an address for Paypal donations.

Thanks

Norm,

Apologies for the delay. For some reason any mail from the site gets put in my BT spam filter. Even my Google account has started doing the same  >:( So I don't get the alerts unless I visit and notice.

As far as I can check, the operation of the Silverblue set was the same as the supplied Turn screen.

I'm off work now for a few days so let me install the programs again and take a look. It will be good to blow the cobwebs away and do something 'useful' on these dark, miserable, cold, gloomy, damp, UK nights  ::)

Cheers

Your determination paid of Benny. Full credit to you.

I still get shivers thinking of the Yahoo group.

Good show.
