« on: July 09, 2012, 05:33:25 AM »
Hi all!

What is the max size for files to upload? I have tried several times to post with attachment but  I always get
"server disconnected..." message ???.

Rgds,
Tapio

Hi Tapio I find my anti-virus sometimes slows the upload down to much and server disconnects

General Mach Discussion / Re: mach3 true spindle speed DRO
« on: July 03, 2012, 07:02:46 AM »
They have the DRO set to a user code so you would need to open the screen you wish to change the DRO on in one of the screen editors and change the DRO to the User DRO number they have, it is 2222.
If you attach your screenset you want to use I can quickly change it for you if you wish.

Thanks Again HOOD I managed to figure out how to change the DRO to 2222. I wonder what changed in Mach3 to stop it working on the original setting ??

FAQs / Re: Can Mach3 Do PCB Drilling using an NC file
« on: July 03, 2012, 06:42:02 AM »
Hi Everyone

I am new to MACH3, but I have been using a CNC machine especially for Drilling and surface milling of PCB Boards. I just purchased a hobby CNC, and I want to know if it is possible to convert NC files to G-Code files, and then to MACH 3 connected to my hobby CNC for drilling and routing

Any help would be appreciated
Hi rcheng111 you should be able to use .NC files in Mach3 as they are.

Hi spr203 are you using a drawing and setting the parameters in the TOOL section at the bottom of Cambam's MOP. if so cambam should set tool paths. Post you cambam file here or in CAMBAM forum and I'll take a look

General Mach Discussion / mach3 true spindle speed DRO

Hi all I'm running a Sieg X3 super converted to cnc using a Promica Kit. I have modified the motor>spindle ratio to now give me 3840 max RPM so the lcd mill reads incorrectly. I have fitted a vista cnc usb optical sensor  pdf attached. My problem is it needs a special screen set to pickup reading 1024rpm.set,  now I have other screens I would like to use but I can't get RPM's.  :'( Could you anyone enlighten as to how I might change other screen rpm dro to suit.
PS. I'm a complete novice  ;)

I'm running Mach 3 with one of Jeff Birt's Soigeneris STDR-4C drive control boxes. I've run it all with a couple 5 to 7 year old Dell XP 'puters. Any trouble I've ever had with the system failing has been tracked to the XP 'puter... bad USB ports, bad USB card, or a bad video card, yesterday's problem was just a loose USB cable, WHEW!

It got me to thinking maybe I should build a new machine, and am wondering which is better, switching to Windows 7, or reusing XP.

Is it tricky to set up Windows 7 to run Mach 3? I'm not as tech-savvy as I probably should be.

Hi Chris I recently had the power supply fail in my 5yr old mach3 computer so had it replaced and decided  to switch to win 7 I just used a copy of my xml file in a new install of mach3 and had no problems.

I am new so may be way off the mark but using my pendant I could alter the FRO slider but no change in feed rate UNTIL I unchecked (No FRO on Queue ) in Config >General config  ;) wonder if this may help

Hi mrprecise44, Thanks for your reply, I understand your process unfortunately I start with only a drawing of what is required  ;) not an original part, as these are what is known as change parts to suit different bottle shapes.
I will look at the drawing and see if I could produce X,A coordinates for a toolpath  ;) I would really like to use the drawing (DXF) to create an X,A toolpath not an X,Y Path  ??? any tips welcome
