Hi. Thank you for the suggestion. I do not recognize the brand name on that relay. It looks exactly like IDEC's hockey puck relays.

General Mach Discussion / Looking for a relay for a strobe light/lightning
« on: September 26, 2016, 07:02:33 PM »
What I'm trying to do is essentially make a strobe light. I have a lighting machine what uses 110 for the output for the lights to create lightning. I also have a 100w led that runs on dc 34v. I'm trying to find a relay that will be fast and play nice with everything. I'm considering an option from Weidmuller but it is pricey. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Modbus / Modbus converter
« on: August 05, 2016, 11:16:44 AM »
I've been working with an IDEC FT1A SmartAXIS controller http://www.clrwtr.com/PDF/IDEC/IDEC-FT1A-12.pdf to interface with Mach3. My issue is that ModBus seems a bit random in its ability to work.  I'm also controlling an AC Tech SMVector VFD and it works perfectly over Modbus via ESVZAR0 http://shop.actechdrives.com/AC-Tech-Lenze-ESVZAR0-p/esvzar0.htm.  I've tried three different ModBus converters, all with the same basic results - no response, random responses, etc.

I've always had trouble with Yaskawa servos. They produce really good industrial VFDs but I cannot say the same about their servos. I've recently started using Panasonic servos and been very impressed by them, especially Minas A5 series.

Modbus / Re: Hitachi SJ200 and ModBus Control Problems

Have you looked at their operating instruction manual?

By the way the SJ200 series has been obsolete for a while. Hitachi's new drive series is WJ200.
