I have an old CandCNC MP3000 that the XP computer died on and I let set for a few years.  The new computer is Windows 7.  It has a serial port but no parallel port of course.  I have installed a new load of Mach3 with my old license and profiles. I can get the table to jog but the Z home input flashes on the diagnostics screen but the LED is on solid on the table I/O board I cannot get any output to work.  I loaded the profiles that CandCNC recommended with no luck.  I think from my research I need another table I/O board that will plug into the Smooth Stepper.  Is this correct and what board will I need?

General Mach Discussion / Amp readout for torch height control
« on: December 19, 2013, 11:46:30 AM »
I am using volts only to control my torch height but when the torch fires the DOR for amps goes to 255 and stays there.  This is making my torch jump up as soon as it is fired.  Is there a way I can ignore this input or force it to zero?  I have changed the torch control card and cables but there is no change.  I can turn the THC off at the begging of the cut then turn it on after it starts and everything works.  The DOR for amps still reads 255 but it works off of volts.

While working on this I found that my ARC OK light is on if I turn the torch on even if i have my plasma turned off.  I am using the dry arc ok contacts but was using a current transformer before.  Is there a way that this could be causing my problem?  Eather way is there something I have to do to change the input from the CT to the contacts.  I know it should not be on without the CT connected but it is.

Checked with CANDCNC they had me disable the stop on fault setting in the cut profile.  It did not work.  The torch will raise .5 when I press the torch on button where is this setting at I think it might be trying to do this while running the G code.

Sorry of the double post thought this one was on another forum

General Mach Discussion / Head Rises on M3 command

Is there a setting that automatically raises the Z axis anytime the M3 command is given?  If there is where is it and how can I turn it off?

General Mach Discussion / Plasma Z axis raises when torch is fired

I have a PlasmaRout table with a MP3000 torch height control.  It has a floating head on the torch.  I have set my offset distance in my postprosser and it looks good.  The problem I am having is the torch goes down makes the switch raises and rezeros.  It then moves to the pierce height but when the torch triggers it raises again then drops to the cut height.  Is this a setting in Sheetcam, if it is I can not find it in the G_Code, or a Mach setting?
