LazyCam (Beta) / Re: Picture to Preudo 3D Engraving
« on: June 08, 2012, 01:42:22 PM »
tnx a lot for reply, i think i got LazyCam to somewhat do my job but it is using dot style engraving so my job is like 800 minutes :)) I played around with Mesh Cam Art and that gaves me 170 minutes but I need to figure out how to prepare artwork to get best results, so far model is not perfect :(

I give a try to VCarve, based on description it looks like very powerful software :)

hi, so i have picture and i want to do engraving with 15 degree V bits.
How can i do this ? I opened Lazy Cam loaded image and selected V something method.... well output gave me flat white panel? Sounds that i did something wrong? Did i?
Are there any other alternative software within a range of $500 that can use V-Bits? I tried mesh Cam Art it has nice output but i have no idea how to add V bits , i only can select mill tools that i create :(

Tnx foir help!

i did hoeever install the update, the machine came with older version of Mac3 like few digits older so i installed new one over it. Could it be a problem? Can I reset license some how or diagnose the problem?

General Mach Discussion / G-Code Cut or Missing When opening in Mach3

Hey all, so i tried to do my 1st 3D cut.... well it didn't work to well what i found out that when I loaded G-code generated from MeshCam, Mach3 only took some few lines of the code and ignored rest of the file... How acn this be fixed?

Attached what i got: 1st i loaded full file with rough and fine finishj but only gut what you see on top: section of rough finish which is not even close to sphere shaped taht i was cutting. Then i loaded lust fine finish and got only that deep hole that supposed to be full sphere.

So the question is: how can i fix that? TNX!

just did project in MeshCam (lets cut a sphere) loaded coede in Mach3 so far i see rough pass but no finishing is that normal? I will get my wax cut and will see what will be milled out but i think finishing was omited even though it was checked in MeshCam

ger21, i have reasonably high budget... but i dont mind saving money, we plan to use CNC to build some test parts locally instead of ordering them. Most of them are aesthetic panels for nonelectric devices, accentually mold injection  bodies.
