General Mach Discussion / MAKE = Dedicated home button?
« on: February 01, 2012, 09:31:43 PM »
I am thinking of making a dedicated home button or changing the REF ALL HOME button, so when its clicked it goes back to the actual corner of the machine 0,0,0,  NOT where it was moved to and zero'd out, so that when i am finished working i can hit the button and its parks back in the corner, at the moment i just close mach 3 and open it again and click GO TO ZERO, so how would you code it? or has anyone already done this
Thanks
Chris

General Mach Discussion / Stopped halfway thru Gcode now no keyboard jog
« on: January 11, 2012, 04:00:59 AM »
HI
I was running my machine and then it just stopped, i was standing a few meters back just watching, i didnt touch anything and it just stopped, when i went to look at the computer it was just stopped on a line of gcode and wouldnt do anything. i have restarted the computer and the software a number of times and and even check the jog on/off switch. i can open mach 3 and start gcode and it runs and the machine moves but will not allow me to jog into place so i can zero out and start?
any ideas?
Thanks
Chris

General Mach Discussion / OEM TRIG #1 - #15
« on: January 08, 2012, 04:22:27 PM »
HI
Just been watching some of the tutorial vids, it mentions these OEM TRIGS in the inputs tab, does this mean you could set up a control panel with up to 15 buttons, i am also guessing you would need a second parallel port to wire these up and to wire these up would it just be a single wire to the parallel port and one to the -VDC on the power supply on each button?
Thanks
Chris

General Mach Discussion / How many limit switches
« on: January 08, 2012, 04:38:27 AM »
HI
I am just a little confused as to how many limit switches?
Do you put 4 on the X axis? either side and at each end?
plus 2 on the Y
And 1 one the Z?
And do you add home switches on top of that?
Or do you just have 3 limit switches and they act as home switches aswell?

Thanks
Chris

Hi Guys
I am new to this, I have watched the video on homing and limits but its talking about the use of limit switches and i dont have limit switches, i am sorry if this question has been asked a thousand times, i have been searching for a while and playing round in Mach 3, i just want to understand how to set up limits without limit swithces so it doesnt crash into the ends?
Thanks
Chris
