General Mach Discussion / Acceleration
« on: August 14, 2007, 04:21:27 PM »
If I understand correctly, Mach is capable of about 1/3 g acceleration.

Just wondering if the increased speeds to 100k SPS increases the accel that is possible?

Anybody know about this?

General Mach Discussion / M108

Anybody know what M108 is?

I just noticed it in the Initialization String, and I don't see it listed in the M-code table.

LazyCam (Beta) / Loading HPGL files
« on: July 15, 2007, 03:28:04 PM »
Does anyone out there load HPGL code into LazyCam?

I use the included files on a different control that runs them just fine (it runs HPGL files or G-Code files), but I can't get LazyCam to pick these up to convert them to a form that Mach can use.  It seems to try, but the display is nowhere near correct.

Anybody know why?

NOTE:  I changed the extensions from *.plt to *.txt because the forum program won't let me post a *.plt extension.  You'll have to change this to try to run the file.

General Mach Discussion / Tweeking Things

The default feedrate comes up as 6 IPM.  Is there a way to change that?

We generally like to home to the low limit on the x-axis (left/right) and to the high limit on the y-axis (front/back).  That way, the tool is out of the way so you can load material after it finds the switches.  In Mach3, that seems impossible because I can only set the absolute position at the limits to 0.00.  Is there a way to set the absolute coordinates to read something different?  In my case, I'd like to find my limits, and then have the absolute registers set to x=0, y=73.

LazyCam (Beta) / Lead Ins/Outs
« on: June 20, 2007, 11:28:15 AM »
Anybody but me having problems with in the new LazyCAM?

I have them turned on in the Loading Options.  But, there are no Lead Ins/Outs there after a part loads, or after I hit the CLEAN button.

However, I can click a layer and pick the Layer Leadin Button.  It says it's set to ON and Auto.  If I pick inside or outside, a lead in is added.  From that point, they do fine.

Where do I find a description of how to use a Macro Pump?

General Mach Discussion / Enable Outputs

I can get two Enable circuits to work.  However, I'm having no luck in using Enable circuits #3-6.

Any suggestions?

General Mach Discussion / Momentary Outputs
« on: April 13, 2007, 04:07:02 PM »
Does anybody know how to make an output button that is only on when you are clicking it?  Or, that will only be active for about 1 second.

I need a couple of buttons that activate outputs that connect to inputs on a PLC.  It would simplify PLC programming if the output is not maintained.

General Mach Discussion / Output issue
« on: April 04, 2007, 03:47:01 PM »
I have outputs on port #1 on pins #1, 2, 9, 14, 16, & 17.  They are all set up active high except #2 which is reverse polarity (active low).

I have # 14, 16, & 17 set up with touchscreen buttons - they work just fine.

I have #1, 2, & 9 set up as enable switches, so each should toggle when I hit the reset button.  However, #1 won't go high - anybody have a clue why that might be?

General Mach Discussion / Driver Fault
« on: April 04, 2007, 01:51:53 PM »
I don't see a standard input to read a driver fault.

How do folks out there read this?  I'm adding it as an E-stop input, but that's not quite what I want.
