Hi Guy's
Well after talking with you Chip this morning i followed your suggestion and removed Mach-3 from my computer and did a fresh install, and found the same condition in motor tuning when i set the pulse and step to say 3 or 4 even 5 close the program and open it up again the program on it's own changed the configuration to some different numbers other then what i had saved so something wrong here? and it's beyond me to resolve it.

Chip
tried to set up the config as you suggested when i drive the stepper's manual they work about right no stall but when i use the MDI line to move the X or  Z a given distance the drive just continualy moves i have to hit the E-stop whats going on here ?
I use the MDI line and use G00 Z-1 and the carrage moves continusly until i stop it.
using the lower numbers the drives hardly would move so i bumped them up unitl they started moveing correctly.

Hello Chip
The machine is using stepper's, Ok i'll give it a go and see if that works out for the machine, what about the size of the machine length and the travel is that configuration  in Mach-3 ball screww pitch and gear ratio where are these setting's or what are they in Mach-3 there are so many sub titles looking through the manual there's a lot of info and not having used it before it hard to understand where to go and how to get it going.

Thanks for the help

Hi Guy's
I am having a trouble figuring out Lazy cam DXF import i have looked at the examples Art posted above and tried to use them but as i see it the tool starts to the right on the outside profile i am talking about of the billit and then cut's the profile in one pass this can't work to well and i can't seam to get the program to perform multi passes so am i doing something wrong? i know there has been a lot of changes to make Lazy cam work for the lathe so is it me or is it a bug.

Hi Guy's
Once again i need some help i am tyring to set up Mach-3 for my lathe working on the configuration of Mach-3 the lathe was already running under another software product so i already had all the math done and the lathe running properly,(don't ask) Mach-3 is just a better product, anyway i just took the setting's off the preceding software and put the setting's into Mach-3 but it's not working out right when i do a G00X+3 i am in MM the move is way off also i can't get the accel and velocity working any help as is always appreciated.

Hi Art
Thanks for the info let me se if i understand this correctly, first i draw the billit size and then draw the profile inside the billit  to the outside or the inside depending on what i want to cut and indicate a line for the tool to come into the billit to cut.

Hi/guy's
Still trying to undrstand this not used to drawing 2 D parts always draw everything in 3D for the mill so i am trying to wrap my head around this LOL.
Why won't the tool start cutting where i draw the start of the line or is it that i have to draw an extra line either on the outside of the billit or the inside to designate either a OD turn or an ID bore.

I have downlaoded the examples you provided, and in looking at them it looks like the Z start position is not at the X center line zero i start my cut's from the end of stock at the center line of the stock.
Also not sure what you mean by the fact i have to tell the program that it's an inside bore versus an outside turn how do i perform this and do i have to provide a line for each pass on the stock?
