General Mach Discussion / re: milling machine with servos
« on: January 09, 2008, 07:51:44 PM »
Hi guy's Happy New Year to all
Well after having some issues with my new drives i have my machine back to together again and running so i guess it's one fight after another until the jobs done so on to the next fight. The machine responds to Mach but the travel is in the wrong direction meaning the drives work reverse simple enough right just go into home and limits and change the direction well i did that and no change so i shut down Mach and rebooted the computer no change same direction tried this several time before i posted this here any ideas as to what could be the problem as always i am indebted to you all for the help my thanks.

General Mach Discussion / Milling machine wirth servos
« on: October 12, 2007, 04:22:15 PM »
Hi guy's
Need a little help i have a Lagunmatic milling machine with a dyna path control something is down in the controller and dyna path was less then helpful so now i want to remove the controller and run it with my MAch 3, question is can i use the same drivers that are in the machine as they seam to be ok also can i use an interface board such as  CNC4PC to run the drives.

Next question how do I actuate the direction on the drives to test the servos out when i installed geckos on my lathe i did actuate the drives moving the steppers just can't remember which wire and i don't want to fry anything if i can help it.

Thanks

LazyCam (Beta) / LCam pro turn problem
« on: May 12, 2007, 05:35:16 PM »
Hi guy's
Chip attached is the profile i have made anad then tried to get Lcam to create the profile to turn, the program still creates the profile with the tool to the right then makes a diagnal move through the billit and then starts to cut the profile all in one pass and ends with a part cut off.
please let me know what you think.

General Mach Discussion / re: Mach-3 for a lathe
« on: April 07, 2007, 06:09:26 PM »
Hello
I am in the need of some help i am trying to connect my PC up to my CNC lathe the machine is now under power running a flash cut signal generator so i know it works as i have used it to cut a few parts but now i wish to switch it over to MAch-3 i have a CNC4PC CG-11 board and i have connected the gecko drives as outlined in the 4PC manual and per Arturo's information but i do not get anything from the software no Jog nothing but re-connecting the system back up to the flash cut generator it works fine.
I have gone into the Config/ motor outputs and i think i have it right assigned the pins 2 for Step X and 3 for Dir just trying to get one axis going before moving on to the next am i missing something? anyone had any problems with these boards?

Thanks for any help
