General Mach Discussion / Re: no jog

Hello My name is Lou and I am located in Melbourne Australia.
I have just taken up the hobby of CNC, I have purchased on EBay a wigt cnc 6040 router (Chinese Machine) and I'm running XPwindows to drive my software Mach3
So far so good!! I have installed the software and purchased the licence and configured the software as illustrated on the Artsoft tutorial.

I now find that when I attempt to Jog the DRO'S indicate movement, All seems good to this stage, When I power up the driver and attempt to jog the machine i get no movement on any of the axis, the dro's still indicate movement. The "Y" Axis motor however, makes a noise as if the motor attachment to the the lead screw is slipping and it seems as if it tries to jog but no movement is achieved just this grinding noise, this is as I said earlier, only on the "Y" axis.

Can any on offer any clues on what I need to do to get this machine jogging and performing as it should?

Thank you for any advice any one can offer me.

Lou

 Hello,

My name is Lou and I live in Melbourne Australia, I have just purchase a cnc Router machine and I'm trying to get things up and running.
The machine I have purchased is a WGIT CNC 6040 I have also installed Mach3 as the operating system.
I have followed in instructions on the tutorial on the Artsoft web site to the letter, my problem is that I can jog okay and I see the movement on my DRO on the software however my motors do not move any of  the axis on the machine.

When I push the arrow keys on the keyboard the y axis motor makes a grinding noise as if the motor drive is slipping on the end of the screw attachment. I get no movement on any of the axis, and I get no motor sound at all on the other two axis or movement.

Has anyone had this sort of problem and are you able to give me some advise on how to get my CNC up and running please.   :'(

Thanh you for the opportunity to join the forum and looking forward to the challenges of cnc world

Cheers for now,

Lou
