General Mach Discussion / Re: Sound with out movement (JOG)
« on: November 17, 2011, 04:52:15 PM »
Hello Jim,

I had a look on the cnc zone site that recommended, the first video clip showed some movement at least, with my machine I seem to get a grinding sort of sound on the z axis motor and it looks as if its trying to move but something is holding it back.
I will be going away for the weekend, when I get back I will have another look at it and see if I can find something that might help.

I might also get back to the guy that I purchased the machine from (The Importer) a local person and see if he can shed some light on the problem.
I didn't realise that it would be so difficult to get the machine up and running. Never mind we will keep at it and I hope that I will find the answers. I will keep you all informed of the progress.

Regards,

Lou

Hello Jim,

I have tried the sliders on the motor tuning, Still no luck in getting movement on my machine.
Jim at a loss at what to try next.

Please let me know if you have any other ideas !!
I'm also hoping that  hood might still come up with a possible solution to my problem.

Regards,

Lou  :'(

Hello Hood and Tweakie,
Ye the e-stop button on the controller is or has been twisted. Okay hood i will attempt to reduce the speed on the motors.
Do I do do that in my configuration tab in motor tuning.

Hi Jim,

I have configured the x, y and z axis is indicated on the attachments, the only motor that I get the noise from as if its attemptingf to jog is the z axis,
the y and X axis do nothing.

Hello I'm very new on this forum and indeed to the world of cnc Routers
My name is Lou and I have had a couple of post regarding my problem with jogging, however for some reason
I can't seem to be able to post on that thread, so i have started a new thread.

I purchased a wgit 6040 cnc machine on e-bay, I have purchase Mach3 soft ware and a second hand computer with XP windows,
so far so good.

I then proceeded to configure the software to the specifications in the manual supplied with the machine.
I have configured the soft are as as per the attachments.

Now My problem is this when I push my arrow keys my DRO's indicate movement . All okay to this stage.
Next I turn on my driver and try to jog the axis on the machine, movement is indicated on the DRO'S but I get no movement out of the machine on any of the axis,
all I get is a grinding sound from my z axis motor as if its trying to move but its not able to or something is holding it back.

Please advise me, if should be doing something else or am I doing something that is creating my problem.

Regards,
Lou :( :-\
