I have been unsuccessful finding a free trace program on the net.

Checkout F--Engrave!

And before you can say "Thank you" I'll go ahead and say "You're welcome!"

Seriously, this guy has given us an amazingly free piece of software. I can't say enough great things about it!

I too want to control a relay that will turn on/off, but I want it to be through a macro. Say M28-ON & M29-OFF (or another set of numbers not used).
I may want the HotKey assigned as well.

My plans are to turn on a red revolving ight when the mill is cutting and off when finished (or a buzzer when finished), but that doesn't really matter what I want to use it for. I just cant' figure out how to assign the pin to an M-code.

I have no plans to use my mill in counter-clockwise rotation so I tried to use the M4 and changed the output # on the Spindle tab, and the pin configuration to match, but it still turned on the spindle. I did not however restart Mach afterwards. I'd still prefer some other set of M code as stated above.

Any help would be appreciated. Long holiday weekend and I've been wanting to finish up my control box, etc. while I'm off work.

Huge undertaking but could you have users upload their license.dat file before granting access to the forum for assistance.

I understand you wouldn't want to block the main page otherwise you cut off your sales entry point.

Harmonics.

Do a search for rattle dampners, dampeners or damper. May have to look at the "Zone" site too.

For starters, look here

So can you put this all together in on listing of code AND give more details on how to implement it, i.e., create a button, create a file (macro), etc, etc.

Thanks!

I was just about to purchase a resettable clock off eBay and another clock to keep the total time.
Just for eye candy really, since it appears that Mach3 will keep the info.

I want some way for it to tell me that it's time to check brushes, perform gib tightening checks, oil, change coolant, etc. based upon user defined presets for my machine.  Would be nice if the macro could popup a dialog or even a macro that could tally the run time and give a countdown of sorts to look at.

Have you looked at the tutorials on this site?

I've not seen this type of double image (but I don't have Aspire). I did look at the tap file and was able to see where the lines that have been duplicated may have come from duplicated vectors from within Aspire. In other words, there are lines laying on top of each other and when the code was generated it doesn't seem to know that particular line in space already exists.

Having one cut deeper than the other though is a mystery because I'm not seeing changes in z-depth at those duplicated cuts.

Odd.

All depends upon your application. I'm familiar with the engraving of the plastic and then using LED's around the perimeter to turn the placard into sign that picks up the frosted area you may have just engraved. There's videos on YouTube of such. However, if you flame polish the engraving hence making it clear, you may destroy your intent for the sign/placard.

Flame polishing works great on the edges though! Videos on YouTube for that too.

I've been interested in this too. Great idea about wrapping the gun stock in aluminum foil!
So here's the question....
Once you get the point cloud data, what's the process for marrying that data with the data you intend to engrave with?

Is there a quick and dirty way to do this? Software?
