I just made some new brass gibs for my X2 and for the first time ever attempted to go higher rate than I've been on table movement in the past.

I was surprised to see the flag come up that say's velocity requested exceeds blah blah blah limits of configuration.

I know they're are others that are moving at a faster rate than this at 45k Hz and I understand that leadscrew tpi has a lot to do with that.

But does it understand my max feedrate is based upon "steps per" or something?

Where's the bottleneck if it's not in the leadscrew?

Am I missing another setting somewhere?

Don't get me wrong, I'm very happy with the new feedrates, just taken aback that the system is infringing on faster movement.

Which version or Mach3 are you using?

I went looking for that path on my machine as it looked odd to me.

All my macros, i.e., *.m1s, are in macro folder and my *.set files are in the main Mach folder.

By the way, what screen resolution are you running on your PC?
The attached file, if it's a screen capture, is huge. 3264x2448 in size.
Since you reference the 1024.set, that's why I ask.
Maybe you did some photo editing to enlarge the snap shot, but I think for we'd be better served in the future, if you just typed out in the thread what the dialog box shows. You did do a portion of it, then we have to download a 3.5 meg file to see what your issue is.
Again, just for future reference.

For others, the dialog box in the screenshot states:

Error, #Expand File not found at:
C:\Mach\ScreenSetMacros\1024.set\Masters\Headers\CopyRightandLicenseNotice.m1s

by the way:  I would like to do a better video of the usage and settings, if anyone has a recommendation on screen recording software...

Try Fraps

Screenshots are free but it appears the video recording will require $37.
Lots of folks in the gaming world use it as seems to be the case seen on therr website.
Just a suggestion as you requested.
No, I'm not affiliated with them and have no idea whether it will work or not.

Look here.

You should be able to modify it for the mill.
Print it on a disk and mount it in your spindle. Using the Fixed Ring Indicator you should be able to at least calibrate relatively close.  Or at least get you in the ballpark.

I enlarged both the images equally in size and found it to be fairly useful.

YMMV,

Look at NCCorrector. Says it exports in DXF. I've tried it and it's pretty good, but it is a "Work-in-Progress" as it's free. However it may get you close enough.

Another alternative for determining the font is to use a web site called WhatTheFont. You upload an image and it tries to determine which font it is.
My wife has an embroidery business and folks send in their own designs (sometimes) but they don't have a clue as to which font they or a friend or service used.
The embroidery software works best with an original TTF file or an image that's been vectorized.  That's where I come in.. LOL!

No offence Rich, but the old adage "Teach a man to fish" seems to come into play here.
Goodness knows I've learned a lot from my fellow posters here.

Depends on what you're looking for, 2.5D or 3D.
For the 2.5D I'd look closely at D2nc. I have it and absolutely love it.
Others will find other software easier.

The main thing to understand is there will be some sort of learning curve with any of them. Stick to the one that appeals to you and dig in and learn it.
There are many demo versions available for various ones.

Probably not the answer you were looking for, but there's no sense in starting a war here with who's got the best.

If you're not using the "index" pin for rpm check, couldn't you set it up to react to the signal seen. Just thinking out loud here and I've only had one cup of coffee this morning!

I could certainly see where loose mounts could cause an issue. That very thing has happened to me before. Durin the change in direction the "slack" has to be taken out first in both directions.  We need to see a photo of how much oval you're talking about or at least measurements in the width versus length.
