ref all home is setting the machine zero, if you don't have home switches you set it to a safe spot or front left corner with Z at it's top height all it is, is a spot that you decide is home, machine zero.

mach3 is a dumb system as in you tell it what to do, BS is ball poo

yes once you have set home (machine zero) you have to set work zero what is where your material you are cutting is

when you start up the machine put it in a spot near where you will have your home switches, front left corner and Z near the top of it's travel and hit ref all home, you don't need switches to set a home spot you can BS it

General Mach Discussion / Re: fusion 360 wrapping function
« on: November 20, 2015, 04:41:21 AM »
it took a few goes to get someone to do it, none of the resellers or expert's wanted to touch this idea, but if vectric can do it with the post processor y not ADSK and a user did it for me

 more info here

http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/computer-aided-machining-cam/fusion360-wrapping-function/m-p/5917283/highlight/false#M5579

not much can beat that one but now at least you can do more than just indexing in fusion

General Mach Discussion / fusion 360 wrapping function

Here is a new tool for everyone (Mach3 so far) this was done by @HughesTooling He did the post processor changes and the .f3d file I just asked for it, all credit for this goes to Mark he the Man with the getup and go to do this.

attached is the post processor and demo file is here http://a360.co/217rTWk this is for wrapping Y axis to A this post processor can be used to convert X or Y axis to A you just need to make sure radius correction is set to half diameter in the file the diameter is 50 so the correction is 25, and make sure the axis of rotation is set in tool paths under config in Mach3.

I have not tested this on a machine yet also your X, Y, Z and A axis zero's have to be set first before running it there are some small changes still to be done it will be reposted when done but it works and is useable.

any question ask here.

that encoder is not quite what you need, you really need a proper encoder. they are are simple as mud to make you can use a dead printer to get all the parts need and that would give you a ir encoder with a wheel

yer its easier than using a TV, when I can afford to get a scope I will be able to find the problem.

the computer needs isolated from the machine or a ground loop will occur just makes sure it's galvanically isolated cable, high quality ones are single ended
