Mach4 General Discussion / need some lua help
« on: May 02, 2015, 05:12:40 AM »
I am going through the M4 scripting manual have got up to the automatic tool height section

how do i set the getregiser function in a M code header file

its this bit
A brief run through: As before the first step in the script is getting and defining necessary variables and the current state of the machine. Register values are retrieved using the GetRegister() function created in section 4.3. It is not defined in this script so it must be defined in an M code header file or a loaded module to allow access to it.

I think I have everything else working

Mach4 General Discussion / ESS problem
« on: April 28, 2015, 02:12:58 AM »
I have run into a problem where the ESS trips the steeper driver, bob into a fault and lock`s up M4.

I have tried restarts, hard and soft double check that everything is correct it is then if I go back to M3 I have to re install the ESS plugin to get it working again it does and runs fine then I go back to M4 and it happens again or the X and Z axis move then when I try to move Y it trips to a fault again it may do it a couple of times then just lock up..

the axis are set all correctly the Y has B slaved to it, A is for a 4th axis it turned off unless i am using it.

no I have not got the M4 licences yet I have to prove it better than M3 to get it.

I know there`s only 3 axis allowed for testing and that it is time limited.

the computer can run M4 I was using it with Darwin

so it`s something to do with the ESS or is that I have 4 axis running 3 + slave

General Mach Discussion / need some help
« on: April 21, 2015, 11:42:11 PM »
I have run into a problem where I have connected up a laptop to the ESS tried running it in M4 and M3 I get the same problem the machines Z axis is out by the same amount after running 1000 Z moves in M4 its out by -.75 mm after each 1000 z moves.
and in M3 its out by -1.45 mm. its the same on each run, I have changed settings slowed things down still get same out by or worse change back to where its -.75 out in M4 and -1.45 in M3. I can`t for the life of me find what the problem is, M4 and M3 seem to be running fine as well as the ESS and the MB06 V2 bob its connected to they are connected to G213V gecko drivers what have the correct current limiting resistors on them, they are tuned by ear.
would using a oscilloscope be a better way of tuning them if so what type of oscilloscope would be the correct to use I know next to nothing about them or how to use them attached is the M3 xml
