Brains Development / Brain for dealing with negative DRO values from modbus device

All,

I am trying to write a negative value generated from a modbus device into a DRO.  I have no problems doing this with positive values but what I try to pass
a negative value it ends up with a value around 65535. I know this has to do with the register size but I need help figuring out
how to deal with it......any help sure would be appreciated.

Modbus / Modbus Carriage Return

I am currently working on a project using Modbus. I am trying to write a value into a DRO and I am having an issue that I cannot figure out. The value that I am trying to write into the
DRO flashes momentarily and then the DRO returns back to its previous value. The same behavior happens when I enter a value from the keyboard into the same DRO but do not hit the enter key.

Do I need a carriage return when dealing with Modbus and DRO values ? If so does anybody have a solution that they could share?

General Mach Discussion / Button to send tool to tool change - feedrate oddity ...

Is there a OEM or Standard button that is used to send a tool to the tool change position ?  I have tried to use X Home or Y Home etc. but the axis moves at an unbelievable
speed when I tried those, almost instantaneous homing.

I must be missing something........

I have tried adjusting the jog feedrates and every other feedrate that I could find but nothing changes this behavior.

General Mach Discussion / Been gone a long time......

I retrofit a Bridgeport Boss 5 about 8 years ago and I am still using Mach2. I was wondering if anybody can tell me how much better Mach3 is now and how hard it is to "transfer" all
of my custom macros and screens into Mach3. I never really had much trouble with Mach2 in the past, but I sure could use some direction or information that could help me
become more productive.

Please tell me what you think

B.T.W. is Art still as active in the development of the product as he was years ago?
