General Mach Discussion / Display problems when nesting
« on: March 12, 2006, 08:32:50 PM »
I am not sure if this is a problem with just my computer or even if its a normal occurrence but I have weird display when nesting. When I load the file (before nesting) it dislays correctly (see first pic) Then after nesting the display shows as second pic and the toolpath shows way down to the left of the screen, as the parts progress the toolpath shows further to the X minus and Y minus directions, see third pic

General Mach Discussion / Y axis stalling
« on: February 06, 2006, 03:15:46 PM »
Hi, I have a very strange one here, I have been using the PhotVcarve program to do a few engravings, I did a picture of a Buzzard and it came out good but decided to do a finer version and that is where my problem made itself known as you can see from the pic below. I thought possibly the code output from PhotoVcarve was wrong but looking at it there is no problem. I ran the same code today and exactly the same problem happened at exactly the same place, I looked at my ballscrew on the Y axis and it had some chips on it so I stripped and cleaned and put it back. I then ran the code again and exactly the same again. I rewound and ran back over three times and each time I could see the Y stopping and then carrying on again. I then single blocked and it ran OK then again ran at normal speed and again the fault.
Anyone have any thoughts on this, especially as it is exactly the same spot every time, even if I move the X0 Y0 so that its a different part of the table/ballscrew that is being used when the error happens.
