General Mach Discussion / 3 axis screen question
« on: January 28, 2019, 02:16:22 PM »
Hello Chaps
I have just had a 3rd axis fitted to my lathe .
I have been using the 1024 lset screen and now I believe I must use the 1024.set screen ( milling)
so that the 3rd axis can be used.
Using the 1024 .set screen is it still possible to jog the axes using the up and down and sideways arrows?
how can i jog the 3rd axis?
many thanks
fred

General Mach Discussion / phils lathe screen setup 3rd axis
« on: March 02, 2017, 01:03:10 PM »
My sincere thanks to Rich for his elp in setting up phils screen for my lathe.

It is a great step forward for me and i can see that i will like it

However now that i converted from the 1024.lset with only 2 axes- how do i get the 3rd axis to work-

I am just wondering if i need to go through the mill setup?? or are there just a few things
to do to get the 3rd axis to respond??

I need to learn these things without having my hand held arround every corner- so perhaps
you could just refer me to the appropriate sections in the appropriate manual ?

best regards

fred

this is really good of you thanks verymuch
I will try it tonite when i get home
Obviously for drilling the motion will be directly along the Z axis
What about making and angled cut ( eg g01 x0z0 then g01 x2z2)
will it peck back at the angle--?
regards fred
