G-Code, CAD, and CAM discussions / config>macros not found
« on: May 30, 2019, 04:40:09 AM »
hello chaps,
item 10.9.1 of mach3 m and g code reference manual says there id a
section called operator> manuals.
I am using mach3 lathe and the menu doesnt have this option.
My understanding is that this option will allow the user to  load a macro and see what it
does ?
does this mean I can call load gcode from the "file" dropdown and it will show what the macro does?
otherwise how can I see what the macro does?
regards and thanks.

better when my father was looking after me?")

G-Code, CAD, and CAM discussions / Re: parameters wont compile?
« on: May 30, 2019, 04:16:59 AM »
thank you very much !!

Am i right in seeing that it is the square brackets that I have to use?

regarding the groove tool - I am using a groove tool to do the whole job.
the groove tool i am using will cut left, right and front. this is ok with plastic
because it plastic material is soft so there is little sideways pressure required,
certainly not enough to bend the shaft of the groove tool.
many thanks and wishing you many happy hours of making chips

General Mach Discussion / Re: block delete control
« on: May 30, 2019, 03:52:25 AM »
Fred there is no such call in mach3.  The only thing for block delete is the slash and it is just an ignore line command. ALL  lines that have it are ignored.

A single M99 call in mach3 gets you an error "Return in effect without a sub call " as there is nothing to return to(M98).

NOW CAN it be done ??  SURE it can.  There are examples on this site.

(;-) TP
Hello TP,
searching for the method of setting the "block delete" on - all I found is this message posted
long ago.
Please tell me how to turn the control on or off in mach3 for lathe?
It will be usefull for debugging
many thanks

G-Code, CAD, and CAM discussions / parameters wont compile?
« on: May 29, 2019, 04:13:44 PM »
Hello All,
can someone please help me.
I am attaching a piece of code which wont compile-
Mach 3 doesnt like the parameters in the subroutine.
I have tried various ways of expressing the code but no luck
(I am machining plastic therefore I am working in reverse
with the tool upside down this way it is easier to control the swarf
Just blow it down and out of the way. and machine from the
chuck towards the tailstock also easier swarf control)

russ- thanks for the reply

at my age (77) I am still running my company because inflation has eaten all my
savings so i think I will soon be "redundant stock" and put in the scrap bin. But thank
almighty God I am still healthy and strong and i actually enjoy the work once I have got
all the creaks and groans sorted out ( usually at about 9.00 am) then I am OK!!
Best regards
