« on: December 23, 2011, 03:04:57 PM »
In studying the manual reference is made to the MDI line being open  or closed.

I know what the MDI line is ------but how do I know if it is open or closed?

How do i open it and how do I close it

Hello Russ- this looks like it may be what i am looking for--
question "machine must be referenced" does this mean that i have already
selected a" set home x" and a "set home Z" on the manual screen?

or if it means something else then please elaborate??

Mach3 turn

Having used a wizard to set up a turning job--
can I "save as" ( to a descriptive file-name ) that set of data?

Thank you

General Mach Discussion / after the crash!!!!
« on: December 22, 2011, 03:41:33 AM »
Hello there

while setting to axis position i accidentally crashed the tool into the rotating chuck

for some reason the emergency stop button didnt function when i hit it.

I did an emergency stop by switching th machine off at its power switch

after replacing the tool tip I started the  resetting home and the

axis DRO's but to my surprise ther arrow keys on the keyboard ( I am using a

flexible keyboard) are now functioning erratically ( sometimes wont jog in a direction until

i jog in a different direction- then it will jog again)

Is there any possibility that the program has became corrupted due to a "spike"

when i had the stoppage?

I thought that maybe the keyboard malfunctioned - but it does the same thing with
a different keyboard?

I am going to reinstall mach3 and try again

Has anyone had a similar problem or can anyone offer a comment??

there was a message on the diags screen-but i dont remember what it said something about

"reinitialization"  or "reinitialized"

best regards fred

small annoyance- perhaps you can help out

While on the manual screen of mach3 turn and i have  pressed "tab "to bring up the jog screen
the jog window about half coverrs the main mach3 window .

the annoyance is to have to reposition the window every time- .

can i somehow change the default  position of the window permanently?

regards fred
