thanks Hood -
Just needed to get a bit more comfortable with mach3 turn - so thats why i am only coming back to this now

I have found that the difference is that my left bouse button and the wheel do the same thing

could you tell me where and how to configure these buttons.

(  If its complicated and a lot of typeing if you would just point me to the section in the manual
and i will read it up myself)
regards fred

General Mach Discussion / Re: gcode for "home"
« on: January 05, 2012, 10:28:33 AM »

Thanks tp - you said:-
WHich HOME do you want.

There is G28 that sends the machine to what is defined in config  OR

Yes I got this one -- If I code G0 it rapid feeds to the home position I set on the manual screen

There is G30 which sends it to the true home position as defined by the home switches OR

Are these home switches hardware that have  been installed on ther machine ? If so
I do not have home switches

There is G0X0Y0 which sends it to the Point of origin (HOME) of the work corrds.

Not sure what this means?? Is this the y=0 and the Z=0 referring to the axis positions
as they are defined on the axis position dro group?

(;-) TP

Thanks graham,

you said:-
Or you can search for home with G28.1 X0 Y0 Z0

Graham

Not sure what you mean by :search for home"  Please elaborate
Also please explain the decimal point that is part of the word "G28.1" ?

General Mach Discussion / Re: changing dro while running
« on: January 05, 2012, 08:44:03 AM »

Thanks for the answer Hood--

(If you are meaning the Feed Rate Override (FRO) then yes you  increase or decrease whilst machining.)

It is mach3 turn and i am referring to the dro on the more or less in the middle of the screen which has

JOG CYCLE
 <....>
************************************XX  ( this DRO Here)

there is another DRO to the right which says

Feed mms/min

<    100 >

Is this maybe the one called feed rate override?

What DROs are you meaning specifically, some things can be done whilst code is running some things are blocked for good reason.

General Mach Discussion / Maximum feedrate on my setup?
« on: January 03, 2012, 08:42:00 AM »
Hello There javascript:void(0);

How can i find out the maximum feedrate that my setuo can handle?

for example - if i set the feedrate on a wizard to let us say 1000- then how can i tell if the
stepper motor is able to reach that speed?

( I am using feed per minute)

General Mach Discussion / changing dro while running
« on: December 24, 2011, 04:06:09 AM »
Studying the details under the geheral heading Jogging in the manual. Section 6.2.4.1

reference is made to changing the feedrate in predetermined steps by clicking on the arrows
below the "jog cycle"

can this be done in the middle of running a cycle and will it progressively increase ( or decrease)
the speed for each "click"?

If this is so for this dro-- then does the same apply for all the other dro's as well

thanks in advance
