G-Code, CAD, and CAM discussions / config>macros not found
« on: May 30, 2019, 04:40:09 AM »
hello chaps,
item 10.9.1 of mach3 m and g code reference manual says there id a
section called operator> manuals.
I am using mach3 lathe and the menu doesnt have this option.
My understanding is that this option will allow the user to  load a macro and see what it
does ?
does this mean I can call load gcode from the "file" dropdown and it will show what the macro does?
otherwise how can I see what the macro does?
regards and thanks.

better when my father was looking after me?")

G-Code, CAD, and CAM discussions / parameters wont compile?
« on: May 29, 2019, 04:13:44 PM »
Hello All,
can someone please help me.
I am attaching a piece of code which wont compile-
Mach 3 doesnt like the parameters in the subroutine.
I have tried various ways of expressing the code but no luck
(I am machining plastic therefore I am working in reverse
with the tool upside down this way it is easier to control the swarf
Just blow it down and out of the way. and machine from the
chuck towards the tailstock also easier swarf control)

VB and the development of wizards / vba and vb-differences
« on: May 28, 2019, 03:24:14 AM »
hello all ,
It is cold in Johannesburg at the moment must be at least 18 degrees with a midday high of 24 to 26. Brrrrrr
Concurrently with many other projects i am trying to learn VBA.
Mach scripts are written in VB.
are there many significant differences?
Like what does doOEMbutton(169) translate to in plain english
Best regards

General Mach Discussion / f 0.2 changes by itself?
« on: May 27, 2019, 11:06:04 AM »
Hello Chaps
Using a wizard and turning a 50 mm dia plastic rod with mach3 .
I use feedrate set to mm per rev
the roughing cut is set to f0.2 mm per rev, but it doesnt always start
at that feed rate? usually it starts at a feed rate of 0.02mm which is much
to slow.
but not only that
the finishing feed rate is set at f0.2mm as well . when the program get to
that block it often ( but not always) jumps to over 1mm per rev??
any suggestions ?
all advice is gratefully recieved.
someone said a work around will be to use feed per minute?
many thanks

Hello Chaps,
Mach3
this has happened to me at least twice in the last few months
when I switch the system on i find that one or both steppers have changed direction.
I dont know - maybe someone can throw some light on the subject.
We have been experiencing a lot of mains power outages.
In order to alleviate the situation I have installed a 60KW 3 phase  generator set .
could this have something to do with it? maybe phases mixed up?
any discussion will be welcomed
