hey kees
   I'm (NEW) at this too.
i am building my first cnc router  or any cnc .    A cnc router  KIT.
you are going to make a cnc or a cnc router?
you can download mach3 demo with mach 3 addons for free  i also have cam/bam .
New to CAD and CAM very very hard for me to understand   also web site cnc zone you can print a cnc glossary  i would print every manual fisrt before downloading  (spiral folder works good  )step by set is the only way to go. mach 3 addons  helps in tying everything together. you also might see if you can find someone there to help you
you might check on  a class.
when i first started this i was thinking 30 days i will be up and running. right now im laughing at myself.
have fun

  hey tweakie
  thanks for your support .
you might want make up check list  kinda like a pre flight  for safty reasons for your lazer. super kitty may not be lazer proof
well still working on my cnc router .  and reading
had a little set back but i am back at it  .
every once  in a while  i have to close mach 3  then open it up to get my motors to turn
i emg stop status ( drive instalation complete ) if i right click reset emg stop button the motors will not turn .
pins port imput signal estop is enable i disable e stop apply ok main screen reset status (e stop needs to be reconfig).  motors turn  and off to work i go
   be careful

if it ok with you i was going to tell my friend about you. is going to buy a lazer cnc  his name is owen at one time he was a mill wright. i dont think he will be needing alot of help like me. i lack a formal education. and to make thing worst i was very sick and in a coma for 6 weeks last  OCT-NOV there is a lot of things i cannot remember . this is a struggle to me. and i have no hope of making anything . without ppl like you helping me .  i am most llikely, the least educated person in here.  i just like to say thank you.
Ps my wife was educated in kent  ok back to work i go

General Mach Discussion / power on or or off
« on: June 21, 2011, 12:05:27 PM »
i have my pc hooked to my cnc but if i just want to do the CAD side i still have power going to my break out board from parallel cable and my usb 5 dcv .  this pc is the only pc i have that has mach 3 lic in it
if i have every thing powered up my motors and drivers are building heat .
i have been powering down my pc to unplug my break out board parallel cord usb.
all this plugging in and unplugging im afraid that im going to short somthing out.
what is the best way to solve this
thank you
